What an incredible show. Rarely do we get a series that achieves such balance between wonderful actors, incredible storytelling and phenomenal videography (I mean the lighting in this show alone!). Also throw in incredible sound and music. This series takes us on a journey that dives into the realm of the Romani and Polish people. This series is everything you could want and more - culture, conflict, rap, dogs, powerful matriarchs. We even get a choral version of the Barbie song! Absolutely gripping. No notes whatsoever. I hope people pick up on the show and get to experience it!
I watched it in the original Polish with English subtitles.

This is a fantastic script. The actors were superb, with Zofia Jastrzebska as the perfect Gita. Every scene in this series moved the story along to different takes than what would usually happen in other shows. Wonderful photography with some really interesting shots. Incredible music, especially all the rap songs. The last rap video was dope! The character depth was exceptional for any type of film or series. Everyone has their own perception of their life. The storytelling didn't throw stones at anyone or maybe everyone. There was nowhere to hide for any character. One of the best series to come along in a long time.
Wow! "Infamia" on Netflix is an absolute gem from the Polish cinematic landscape, and it's a series that deserves every ounce of praise! Diving deep into the intricate tapestry of identity, culture, and societal dynamics, this show is a masterclass in storytelling. Centered around Gita, a vibrant teenage Romani girl who relocates from the UK back to her roots in Poland, the narrative is both heartwarming and thought-provoking.
The performances are nothing short of spectacular! Jastrzebska, in particular, shines brightly, delivering a portrayal that is both authentic and deeply moving. Every scene she graces becomes magnetic, pulling the viewer into her world. Czerwinska and Lach complement the ensemble with their compelling roles, adding depth and dimension to the storyline.
What sets "Infamia" apart is its brilliant amalgamation of coming-of-age themes with deeper socio-political commentaries. It's not just a series; it's an experience! The show offers a rare and enlightening glimpse into Romani culture, breaking down stereotypes and presenting a culture rich in tradition, challenges, and resilience. The musical journeys, the generational conflicts, and the exploration of love and family values are depicted with such finesse that it's impossible not to get emotionally invested.
However, it's not just about the highs; "Infamia" doesn't shy away from addressing the prejudices and biases of the broader Polish society towards the Romani community. While there are moments where one wishes the series delved deeper into these issues, the gradual progression and expansion of this theme are commendable.
In conclusion, "Infamia" is a cinematic masterpiece that is both enlightening and entertaining. Its rich storyline, exceptional performances, and thought-provoking themes make it more than just a series - it's a journey that every viewer will cherish. If you're looking for a show that offers depth, emotion, and a fresh perspective, "Infamia" is a must-watch! Dive in and prepare to be mesmerized!

This was my first time binge-watching a Netflix show, but I had to cut it short as I had to get up for work the next morning. There are just two more episodes left for me to finish. I absolutely adore the main character, the cinematography is exceptional, the soundtrack is on point (I've already started listening to it in my car), the characters are intriguing, and I find it fascinating to get a glimpse into the lives of these communities in my neighboring state. It feels like a relatable experience, growing up in similar panel flat neighborhoods. Yes, I'm loving the show and especially Zofia.
It's a look into Roma life, but doesn't dive too deeply. The main theme is culture clash, main characters are Roma but they move to Poland from Wales, Roma live next to Poles, younger, more modern generations vs old, set in their ways generations.
Storytelling relies too much on stereotypes. Patriarchy, women have no voice, family is everything but follow the rules are you are kicked out, Poles are racist..... Plenty of stuff is exaggerated.
It's not a bad series, as such. There is some drama, some character development, but overall it feels script is too constrained by the image of Roma and how they interact with others to develop a solid story.
