All of which goes to show that the soundies were always looking for something to turn into a short film. If there was a record of it, big groups were happy to be in the soundies to promote record sales and live appearances. Starting artists were happy for the $25 and exposure. Show up at the studio, fake the playing or lip-sync to the record, and go home. It's how future stars like Doris Day and Ricoardo Montalban got their starts.
