One of the most astonishing and beautiful tributes to the art of cinema and telling stories i have ever seen, this film grabs every filmic resource and style to exalt what a machine will never have the capacity to do, art.

It is an hypnotic trip, the cinematography is out of this world, and is surprising how the directing works wonders in all the different styles and aspect ratios this film has, especially the first silent film half, which is without a doubt one of the most powerful slices of cinema of the decade.

Paying tribute to cinema by making cinema, and making it the most powerful and artistic way possible. Bi Gan is a dreamer, and i hope that we have directors that think like him in the future.

A fascinating experience through and through.
