Mauler

I literally made a Rotten Tomatoes account just to warn people about this disaster. Mauler 2025 isn't just bad it's a complete insult to anyone who sits through it. The plot is nonexistent, the acting feels like a middle school drama class gone wrong, and the dialogue is so cringe it actually hurts. I don't know who gave out those 5 star IMDb ratings, but they must've been delusional or bribed. This film doesn't just waste your time, it actively makes you regret pressing play. Honestly, calling it garbage would be generous.

What. Why. Where. Who allowed this to happen, Amazon? I have a severe migraine just trying to process what I watched. At one point you can literally see the camera person strolling in the shadows like it's casual Tuesday. The acting? Let's just say... breathtakingly terrible.

And yet, against all odds,it was the most entertaining disaster I've ever seen. We laughed so hard our stomachs hurt. God bless these actors and directors... but please, for the love of cinema, choose another career.

This movie is'nt too bad .I liked the concept of this Slasher movie. My main beef was that too much time was spent on the dialogue with those Twenty somethings who were to spend time in the house. They were so annoying and i could'nt wait for them to get offed one by one. It does pick up though when the Mauler character starts killing them off. It was'nt a bad Slasher flick .I gave 4 stars for the main character and the concept.

I had hopes for this movie. It started out decently well. Then fell apart. I fell asleep before the group of kids even made it into the house because the middle part of the movie just took that long.

I definitely appreciated the effort of thisovie, but between the not great acting and trying to make a slasher flick comical the movie just fell flat for me.

"Mauler" begin as so many good slashers do. Many years ago a young boy is involved in a traumatic event that ends up with his parents dead, and he is adopted by his religious grandmother. Flash forward to today, and a group of 20-somethings decide to try an "internet dare" where they spend the night in an abandoned house where something horrible happened in the past. Unfortunately, they choose this house and, despite what they think, the house is not abandoned...

"Mauler" is so disappointing. It started out great, making me think we were going to get a nice, retro slasher. Flashback with backstory of killer? Check. Group of attractive and incredibly annoying 20-somethings? Check. The group make stupid decisions? Check. Now, all that's left should be the easy part -- have your hulking villain dispatch each of the annoying kids in a gruesome fashion one by one until only the final girl remains.

But after the setup, "Mauler" just falls apart. The tone is all wrong -- it will go slasher and then try comedy that is painful to watch. We keep waiting for the slashing and it just never seems to come. We get the gang arguing about an absolutely idiotic plan, we get "comedy relief" policemen, and it's all wrong. It doesn't start to hit a groove until about 10 minutes before the end and even then, there's an out of the blue ending that will leave you shaking your head.

It is sad to see a low budget horror flick that started out to promising just not be able to deliver. I mean, it's not awful -- you could definitely do worse -- but I think the fact that it started out so promising makes it just seem so disappointing and hard to recommend.
