Strange combination of an absurd, almost ridiculous plot and the whole film's very serious and dramatic atmosphere

Artcon comes with an interesting premise, but fails to deliver a solid story-telling, screenplay or acting performances. I actually thought that the whole film could have worked as a black comedy or dramedy with its kind of unrealistic plot. Instead the creators chose to make it into a wannabe drama, that unfortunately lacks the dramatic element. The narrative feels extremely monotonous without any twists or turnarounds and the audience is just waiting for something unexpected to happen - but nothing does. The acting performances are very mediocre, in some cases even straight up bad, and overall it just comes through as a cheap boring TV soap opera. Except for the initial idea of the premise I do not have anything to think highly of.
