Imagine you go to a bar and see a guy in his early 20's absolutely wasted. You make eye contact and instantly regret it because he gets a huge smile and stumbles over to you. This guy says he'll buy your beers on his tab if you listen to his show pitch. He goes through a 20 minute speech of ideas that do not make sense, and sound like exact copies of ideas you think you read on reddit at some point. You set down your beer and try to look busy and he takes the opportunity to drink the rest of your beer. At last call he frog blinks at you, tells you he lost his wallet but "you seem like a cool guy! You can totally cover this right?" and he throws up.
That's who created this show. The good reviews are buddies from the producers hometown. The plot is poorly put together and the script reads as well as a last minute college essay written 20 minutes before deadline. Should be scrapped and reworked.

Note the semi-literacy about people complaining about lack of plot.
Kind of funny -- they can't even plot a sentence, but claim to appreciate plot.
They are sort of right :
The show does not have a cohesive or easy to understand plot. It's visual insanity.
Also, check how divisive this show is.
It's like it divides the boring people who want things to be normal and conventional, from the people who love something that is far out and strange.
I really recommend it very highly.
It is like a visual trip on mushrooms. I don't know what is wrong a safe experience of artistic insanity from a distance or the comfort of your bedroom.
I love King Star King. It is a psychedelia experience with a cool and fluid touch. The animation is amazing, with hues of every color and motions that flow together. Not a type of cartoon that you see everyday. In fact there are maybe a handful of cartoons that I consider to be very well put together and on point with the visual graphics. It is also hard to find a mature cartoon that is not complete trash nowadays. This series is epic, featuring a dramatic array of eye candy to evoke emotions and feelings. I am very sad indeed that it only ran for one season. Also I would like to note that it is shown on Adult Swim for a reason, IT'S FOR ADULTS. If you can not handle violence, graphic images, or cartoon nudity I would suggest the cooking channel.
I'm glad I decided to check out King Star King for a few different reasons.
For one thing, the character designs are OUT OF THIS WORLD. It's insane, on a creative and artistic level, how well drawn and choreographed the animation and movements are when it comes to the unique characters that inhabit this strange, violent, sex-obsessed dimension.
Another is the surprisingly well-conceived stories and events that take place within the short run-time of each episode. While most stories seem pretty simple for the most part, it's hard to make such a surreal experience of a show whilst giving the audience a story and something to think about, and this does exactly that.
It's pure crazy, and not for everyone, but for those with a stomach for gross-out body humor, graphic (near-depraved) animated nudity, and an open mind, it doesn't disappoint.

I really wanted to hate this show so much!! But I was wrong!! I received backlash for how I treated my opinion on Superjail! In the past. You know what? Forget what Doknot1999 said!! And after watching that horrid AI generated South Park ripoff known as "Exit Valley", I'm finally convinced that King Star King is actually a hilarious gory and insane cartoon that I just can't stop laughing at!!
I was wrong about shows like Superjail! And King Star King being horrible. This show is insane, stupid, weird, nonsensical, and drugged up! AND I LOVE IT!!!! You can tell that the show's creator J. J. Villard was influenced by the likes of. Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Fleischer Studios, Walt Disney, Walter Lantz, Looney Tunes, MGM Cartoons, Roald Dahl, UPA, Tim Burton, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Art Clokey, underground comix, John Kricfalusi, John R. Dilworth, Mad, Richard Scarry, Don Bluth, Genndy Tartakovsky, Hanna-Barbera, Tom Ruegger, Rob Zombie, Stephen Hillenburg, Joe Murray, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Sid and Marty Krofft, Ralph Bakshi, Danny Antonucci, Jhonen Vasquez, Jay Ward, Jim Henson, South Park, Osmosis Jones, Patrick A. Ventura, He-Man: Masters of the Universe, The Real Ghostbusters, Thundarr the Barbarian, Sesame Street, Mike Judge, Celebrity Deathmatch, anime, Doug TenNapel, KaBlam!, Matt Groening, Klasky Csupo, Maxwell Atoms, Schoolhouse Rock!, Yellow Submarine, Classic MTV, Paper Rad, PFFR and Dr. Seuss. It really shows.
Think Beavis and Butt-Head meets Invader ZiM. Shows like this, Problem Solverz, Stone Quackers, Saturday Morning All-Star Hits!, Superjail!, Brothers Grunt, JJ Villard's Fairy Tales (which Villard also created), Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Uncle Grandpa, and ANYTHING under PFFR were all masterpieces compared to AI generated animated horror like Monster Camp and Exit Valley.
I wanna see a critical reevaluation for shows like King Star King! Even Pan-Pizza from RebelTaxi loves this AND Superjail!, and now I know why!
