The Dollmaker Part II

This is about a British bloke named Gord who digs his work: making a living creating Rube Goldberg contraptions used to stretch, contort and otherwise abuse beautiful women, who model (or "act") for BDSM videos and fans and are comfortable being submissives. (NOTE: Gord died in 2013.) This feature begins with a 2-minute recap from Part I, in which Gord creates a sort of human doll as a custom project for a fan paying $150,000, made out of properly trained blonde Eden Wells.

Part II doesn't bear a director's credit, perhaps because it is shot in a documentary fashion (quite dull to watch if you're not a fetichist). Emphasis as in much bondage/fetish video is on the physical nature of rigging, tight tying, etc. -the creative end of this nonsense. Part II begins tediously showing Gord applying 100 pounds of pressure from large water containers to yank poor Eden into contorted shape, trapped in her skintight black latex outfit from head to toe, suspended upside down. For me, the effect was a bit like a horror movie depicting medieval torture to tear a victim's four limbs off or stretching on a rack.

Several other beauties are similarly mistreated (of course this is how they make a living, likely inured to the pain) and cheerful, square folk participate on the sadistic end. In porn like this, the models must be extremely beautiful, while the creeps (of either sex) dominating them look like schlumps.

One of Gord's gimmicks (perhaps what he's famous for) is demonstrated here as Eden is trained to walk on her tiptoes wearing fetish boots, pulled by a truck -God forbid she might trip and hurt herself. This reminds me of the sport of truck pulls, or wear a strength nut guy will pull a school bus by his teeth -reminding me that this porn is more spectacle (gazing at a girl in bondage) as anti-cinematic as the '60s Warhol movie innovations which have so influenced porn over the decades.

The girls have their mouths covered and rather than nude are almost entirely trapped under latex. I suppose this is to dehumanize them, while still displaying spectacular hour-glass figures under the latex. It's not sexual or hardcore, just weird.

Most of the video merely demonstrates the banality of evil. Both Gord and especially his assistant Cody (played by tattooed Jimmy Smokes) take great care in training the living dolls, especially squishing them into the "compression box", similar to training a magician's assistant to fit into a tiny space to create magic trick illusions like sawing a woman in half, and then carefully packing them up in gift boxes to be shipped out to their new "owners". Gord explains to Eden that she will be giving up her freedom, now to be owned by another person, but she's okay with that. At one point, Cody jokes about "being careful with the merchandise", referring to Charlotte, a human doll.

Poor Petra is outfitted by Gord with an electronic device that zaps her in her private parts -her latex outfit resembles camouflage costuming, and she is shipped off in a doll box labeled "Battle Babe". For black humor (attempted that is), Gord forgets to turn off the motion sensor, so she's screaming (muffled by her costume) during the truck ride to her customer, which Gord thinks is funny, as he's playing your friendly neighborhood sadist here.
