Avis à la une
In total I enjoyed this Movie (from an old fan)
At this point one can make any story with a any bunch of characters to make a relatively successful detective conan movie. I was a little bit worried. But in total I enjoyed this movie.
Positives:
Negatives:
In total a good movie, but not dc at its best. For me!
Positives:
- there is a lot going on, many characters, and thqt keep you interested. I didnt experience a long scene where I felt bored
- Heiji Hatori stole the show for me with a very impressive presence. Kaito comes second. Conanfeels like a secondary character in the first half of the movie.
- When the music plays, i feel goosebumoäp. Although I wished to have a little bit more of the classical dc music.
- The story is relatively good, but not the best.
Negatives:
- I dont think that accidental audience will like this movie, you have to be a fan
- the quality of animation is a little drawback in comarison with the older movies.
- sometimes there are scenes so over the top, that they are silly.
In total a good movie, but not dc at its best. For me!
Five Points of Mystery-Conan, Kid, and a Deadly Hunt for Treasure
What if a centuries-old legend, a phantom thief, and a string of cryptic murders converged in a deadly chase where history and greed intertwine? The Movie sets its stage with riddles carved into tradition and a treasure hunt that pushes both Conan and Kaitou Kid into a dangerous game of survival.
The plot follows a series of murders connected to an ancient treasure, with clues hidden in a star-shaped pattern-the "pentagram." Kaitou Kid's involvement adds spectacle, yet the mystery grows darker as motives of revenge and greed unravel beneath the allure of riches. The film thrives on atmosphere, using historical references and cryptic codes to immerse the audience in a layered puzzle. The dynamic between Conan and Kid injects energy, balancing rivalry with reluctant cooperation.
Analytically, the film succeeds in evoking intrigue through its symbolic use of the pentagram, merging mystery with cultural and historical undertones. Themes of obsession, betrayal, and legacy resonate throughout, while the suspenseful treasure hunt sustains momentum. However, the narrative occasionally leans too heavily on spectacle, with the mystery's resolution less intricate than its buildup suggests. Supporting characters are underutilized, and the villain's motivations, while serviceable, lack the depth that could have elevated the story beyond a traditional treasure-quest framework.
Rating: 6/10 - visually engaging and thematically rich, The Million-dollar Pentagram entertains with its blend of codes, history, and rivalry, but its uneven mystery and reliance on spectacle keep it from shining as one of the series' strongest entries.

worth the hype..
The mystery is definitely one of the better ones in recent years, layered, full of twists, and with a reveal that actually feels satisfying. Heiji Hattori steals the show this time, getting some of the best moments (seriously, give this guy more screentime). The animation is crisp, the chase scenes are intense, and the soundtrack? Absolute banger.
But it's not perfect. Some parts of the movie drag a bit, especially in the middle, and a few side characters feel underused. The villain has an interesting backstory, but their motivation could've been explored more. And as much as I love Conan's genius, sometimes it feels like he figures things out a little too easily would've been nice to see him struggle more.
Still, minor flaws aside, this is a fun, well-executed mystery that fans will love. It's not the best Conan movie ever, but it's definitely worth the watch.
(bruh, when is heiji finally gonna get a W with kazuha??)

Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram
Anyone else think the soundtrack to this reminded them of the BBC "Sherlock" series with Benedict Cumberbatch? Anyway, this one sees our renowned diminutive detective "Conan" brought in to help "Insp. Nakamori" investigate the theft of some priceless Samurai swords. Now they are valuable enough, but somehow our sleuth reckons there is much more to it, and when the legendary "Kaito Kid" - usually noted for his jewel thievery - is seen at the scene, the game is well and truly afoot. We've got a generous (and duplicitous) millionaire vying with our investigators and the white caped-kid as the clues start to suggest that the swords could form a code that will lead the way to a secret weapon that could spell doom for the whole nation. Can our intrepid team thwart this evil intent in time? I like these animated stories. Though this one is a little on the long side, and there's a rather annoying romance cluttering things up from time to time, there are plenty of characters to suspect, we are given an inclusive idiots guide to crime-fighting and are led down plenty of blind alleys and shown loads of red herrings whilst the animators deliver some fast-moving sword fights, flying acrobatics and airborne escapades the length and breadth of Japan. I found the ending to be a bit weak, but I like the idea of us all using our little grey cells to sort out a problem that marries crime with history, mystery and myth.
Different Formula, same result
As someone who watched like 200 episodes in the series and some of the movies, the last i remembered is only the scarlet bullet and the submarine, i feel this movie has new approach comparing to those two, in a way i appreciate that but they messed a part
For me this movie has a different approach where things really get messy in the first hour, those sword fights and stuff really make me interested in the movie but in the act 2/3 the movie feel not enjoyable, no more unknown dead, basically no more trap it's just typical bomb and the main antagonist feels not really smart for killing only one men, because he could get away with several.
Basically this movie having a really great first hour but not satisfying ending and another truth revealed which make me sure this series won't end until 2030. Well for me this is just another mid conan movie.
