Avis à la une
A simple short film, but one that possesses a depth in very interesting reflective themes, and depending on age or level of maturity, you can have a better experience or make an immediate connection.
Directors Jillian Smith and Reagan Yorke did a decent job, with a filming style that features striking camera angles and demonstrates environments and third-person shots to reflect emotions. Perhaps the amount of camera movement in some crucial moments, where a slow zoom in and out would be better, could be mentioned negatively, yet it has its merit.
Among the performances, a few stand out, but the one who steals the show without a doubt is Courtney Olsen. The development and growth she experiences as the minutes go by is crucial for the short film. The actress carries the weight on her shoulders, gifting you with interesting scenes.
"Cheers" covers controversial topics such as childhood traumas, overwhelming thoughts, underestimation, low self-esteem, false friendships, self-love, despair, frustration, mental lapses, personal problems, anger, among others. Each one of them is executed well.
That way of exchanging characters with the same sequence of movements should be highlighted; from my perspective, it adds a lot. The plot in general focuses on overcoming the past and loving yourself. It could have had better execution, but it's interesting.
