As a novice in fashion, this was perfect to draw me into a world i had no idea could not only capture my attention but draw me in to a world where i'm rethinking what i want to do with my future.
At many times i was devastated by outcomes and that's about the time i usualy bop off of reality tv, this is just game everyone is looking for their next reality show.
The passion and the struggles that came out really made me change my mind about certain perceptions I had. I respected the decision-making process and, again with a lack of any experience in fashion, I felt like the testimony of a reality show was actually backed up with integrity. In reality TV it's a known fact all manipulated into certain things, the edits to make us hate a certain character etc., I found these a little bit more genuine because at the end you were left knowing that this had all transpired of course, I had to it's a reality show, but at the very core the industry they were representing was respected. Or at least to someone who had little to no respect for the industry now house respect for it and has learned that giving people time to step into their element is crucial and we all behave to stress us in different ways. I would love to see going forward a little bit more behind the critiques and why the critiques were made. At the same time I don't wanna lose any of the emotional connections that I made with the protagonists that actually, at least came across authentic.
Y'all don't know me so I can feel confident in seeing this won't give away any spoilers but in the beginning I was very put off by some choices that were made and by the end of the show I had a newfound respect of why those choices were made and I think that they were actually made in favor of the industry the show claims to represent.
Those of you who have watched the show now that one judge stood out, two judges didn't really add anything. I would love to see that judge have a little more autonomy although I feel like maybe they took the reigns too much as well. Oh wow that last sentence was super contradictory. I don't know maybe that's part of the factor that got me hooked.
In the end, I'm surprised that I left the show with more respect for the (ended up) leads, it was almost up by bipartisanship between the hokey reality TV were all served in a little bit stay on, in the authenticity we originally craved that got us to the point we're at now as far as reality TV goes.
I also love that the people who cast the show or chose the contestants didn't just represent what we always see, the diversity was understated and elegant. To me that's the closest you can get to an authentic group of matching talents, instead of a career driven group of like-minded individuals just trying to screw each other.
And of course, the lack of virtuous signaling, with regards to contestants or what have you, is a smart move by the marketing team because you won't have all these dogs waiting on hindquarters for trigger words they were bred to attack.
