Fun show if you enjoy seeing new products. However, the show misses the true business analyst details. Does the product ever make money for the entrepreneur and the investors. Does the inventor ever recover the money they spent developing the product, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars? The show is a watered down kindergarten version of shark tank without the critical analysis. If you want true business sense, watch Shark Tank or anything with Marcus Lemonis as he analyzes products and businesses and whether they are viable. The only other thing I didn't like about Buy It Now is how often the hosts uses profanity of all sorts.

Something is missing but I can't quite put my finger on it. Here's what I'm seeing as a former reality and game show producer:

The contestants, audience, and judges feel overly produced (conditioned on what to say and how to say it). The Ring doorbell guy has an impressive resume, but I can't remember when I saw someone this boring on tv. When he speaks it sounds like he's always in the middle of giving a TedTalk. That may be overly critical, but I can't get past it. The Amazon judges are also lackluster. And the people pitching their ideas are not that likable. Usually casting is the key to a show like this.

The show is polished, I'll give it that. But that's also its biggest problem. I haven't felt an ounce of authenticity or been able to force myself to be interested after watching five episodes.

I didn't mean for this review to be so negative. I think it frustrates me because it has potential and I wish it turned out to be a better show.

Great idea. You don't have to already be a millionaire like the Sharks seem to require on ThevShark Tank. So far nobody is rude to the contestants like Mr. Wonderful can be. I have not witnessed any name calling yet. Everyone is respectful.

I especially like the episode with Tabitha Brown. She was very relaxed and down to earth. She was the same way that she acts online. The show did NOT feel overly produced to me, but I am not a producer. I definitely felt the passion of all of the entrepreneurs. The panel provided tips to help them. Also, I like that the audience gets to participate and ask questions.

Buy It Now is a fresh and exciting twist on the classic entrepreneurial pitch show format. If you're a fan of Shark Tank or The Apprentice, you'll love how this series incorporates a live audience into the action.
