Glistening in the Snow

Went to watch this on Tubi and compared to a few other holiday movies on there this one sticks out for diverse cast, good musical performances, consistent acting and good quality. The story was cool as well. I would recommend for a snow day or family movie. A small club that they are trying to save but a mean lady tries to take it down. Also, the other stories with the characters in the club are good. But honestly I was talking back to the television at how annoying the villian lady was. However, it was enough sass in the club to give her what she needed to get in check. Lol. But she was definitely a piece of work.

I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday movie. I loved that it is something that I could enjoy with my husband as well as my grandchildren. I enjoyed that the movie was easy to follow and showed the true meaning of Christmas, togetherness, family and love.

Gibson had an amazing cast who truly embodied their characters. Music was fun and included some favorite holiday classics that anyone could sing along to. I really loved the songs Winston sung. So much I downloaded the Glistening In the Snow Holiday album.

I would recommend this film if you love watching holiday movies. I hopeful for a Glistening in the Snow 2 and seeing where life has taken the residents of Salem since Christmas.

The diversity. The togetherness, The story. The music. Just a solid holiday film. I especially enjoyed how organic everyone seemed to be on camera. Little funny moments here and there. A really scrooge like lady. Basically, the movie had all the components of a Christmas class. Music, conflict, resolutions and some lights and decor. I loved the snow scenes throughout that carried into the next. My favorite character was probally Tesa. They honestly were all good but she didn't play. The quality and characters were all on point. A really good cast. Will watch over holidays and love that its something for everyone.

Holiday themed films almost always never surprise but Glistening in the Snow is different. Written and directed by Evin Gibson, this holiday themed film hits it out of the park, bursting out of its sub genre conventions and soaring far above everything else.

On the surface, it does seem like a cute little holiday film that hits all the right notes. But look under the hood, and you see a real story with real stakes and consequences. Gibson should be commended for introducing something original here into a genre that had not been reinvented in a long time.

Gibson is a tour de force here; pulling double duty as both writer and director. Gibson's script has all the necessary bits and bobs of a holiday picture but Gibson manages to infuse and expand some original ideas here, one that makes the film even better. I was moved by both the film and the performances which is testament to the great work done by the cast and crew.

Everything from the acting to cinematography works in perfect unison here. Jahmai Jones as Donovan and Tiffany C. Ivy as Anaja are fascinating and the lively cinematography coupled with heartfelt music does its magic. Equally impressive is the narrative pacing that keeps the film chugging along quite nicely.

Glistening in the Snow is thus a solid holiday feature that manages to impress. This film will put you in the holiday mood and its feel good story is just what I needed. I will be watching it again with my friends and family during the holidays. Loved it!
