Went from a good show that judged people on there christmas light set-up, to a show about peoples life stories. Its called the great christmas light fight because of the lights. not because of the persons life story.
The two hosts get everyone's hopes up by telling them they will be hard to beat and they don't end up winning.
The episode I am watching now, they are inside someones house! that has nothing to do with christmas light display. Show went downhill really quick.
Stick with the first two seasons and do yourself a favor and stop there

I agree with one of the reviewers - this show is terribly wasteful. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas light displays. I used to enjoy riding around my neighborhood at night in December looking at all of the different kinds of colorful lights on people's houses. But a competition where the goal is to see who can have the brightest and most dramatic light display does nothing but indicate the lack of knowledge (really, just plain ignorance) on the part of the producer of people who struggle just to keep their electricity on, due to not always having enough money to pay their utility bill, and have to use energy assistance. Oh well, not like I should've expected much. ABC is a mindless channel. I actually forget this show exists every year, until I happen to be watching TV on a random Sunday evening. I shake my head whenever I see it. It was a cute idea, but it's been on TV for too long. It's gaudy, over the top, and detracts from the true meaning of Christmas. It needs to be canceled.
BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM HONEST.
This show is fun to watch. If you love Christmas then this show is a must see. It is great to see how people decorate their homes but it also shows us how people make their own displays.
I always love to see how people hide all those wires. I know people complain about "Disney Characters" being on almost all the houses but let me shed some light (No pun intended) on that.
Some people that put up these lights are not "Religious or Christian". Christmas to them is just a holiday like The 4th of July". Putting up these Christmas displays in front of their home is something they still want to do. Now if you look at stores that sell Outdoor Christmas Displays lots of the items are "Disney" related or items that are characters from the classic Animation specials like "Rudolph" and "Frosty the Snowman". Also ABC is owned by Disney so self promotion is expected. Keep in mind many people are limited to what is available to buy. Most stores its "Disney"
The show is fun. I love watching every episode. I have a DVD of every episode and I love the fact each year my collection is growing.
Now what is so wonderful about the show is that it makes you smile. It does bring out the child in you. Its nice too see how hard people do work and they do it not because of a contest but the "Joy of Christmas".

While I really like this idea, I just can't in good conscience support or promote a show that applauds the waste of resources by some when so many others cannot afford to heat their home or have power. This makes me sad, really. In order for me to actually appreciate something like this the prize would need to be a donation to organizations that help people with affording utilities.
This is actually now my seasonal favorite show! I have watched it most of the years it's been on. It's amazing how fancy people get decorating their homes. And all the DIY.
I couldn't do anything like that. In fact, at 62, I do decorate but do not put up lights outside. I love Christmas and enjoy decorating inside and out. (I usually decorate during the week after Halloween.)
But when the Christmas season is approaching, I start looking forward to the new season of The Great Christmas Light Fight. (My neighbor probably hates hearing me talk about it every year.) And my favorite judges are the current ones, Carter and Taniya. And I hope they continue to be the judges. They are too fun. I love them. The earlier ones were not as personable.
This is actually the ONLY tv series that I make sure I see EVERY episode of. (My other favorite series I regularly buy the DVD sets, so I don't always worry about seeing all the episodes.)
