The Keeper's Diary: A Biohazard Story

This is one of the best adaptations of the game i've ever seen. They stayed true to the essence of the video game as opposed to some of the big hollywood productions. I also love the fact that they even got one of the original cast members of the game, Charlie Kraslavsky who played the original Chris Redfield, to play the keeper. This is absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see what this group has in store for their next project. I see big things in the future for this production team. Also a shout out the the janitor character at the end, that was a funny and unique addition (albeit unrelated to the game it was still clever)

What they did with the VERY limited budget is nothing but a miracle in itself. It is an amazing film, shot well with atmospheric tension, great effects, and impressive CGI (given their budget). Love this, awesome film. The horror of creatures and the look of dying and decayed bodies looks like something out of The Walking Dead. A surprise action scene really, really solidified the danger and threat of the monsters and abominations lurking around the laboratory. The acting from everyone was very professional and you really feel what each character is like, even with their limited screen time. Fantastic work all in all.

Dear Resident Evil Diary, Upon hearing that a short Resident Evil inspired film was in development from a dedicated fan filmmaker, I waited in anticipation for the release of the Keeper's Diary. This short did not disappoint in any way. The casting coup is original Chris Redfield actor Charles Kraslavski, from the OG game, plays the titular character, the Keeper. The director's vision of following of the source material is what all fans have desired. The cinematography is breathtaking considering the fan film status makes it looks like a pice of art. The CGI was excellent even with a limited budget. The costuming was on point, but I do have to say, the beret on Jill could have fit better. The set design was so close to the actual game it did evoke nostalgia in me. Overall, this is a short with panache and I do look forward to this team working together again to bring to life the teaser during the credits.

I am itching for it and am sure it will be just as tasty.

Saullo lifts right from the diary you find in the game, keeping true to the game's story, which is what we RE fans have wanted all along in a film adaptation. It is so cool to see The Keeper's descriptions brought to life, and the Hunter scene made my jaw drop and then squeal with delight.

The CGI is jaw-dropping, especially for this low-budget indie short. Saullo and his Visual Effects department do outstanding work. What really makes The Keeper's Diary: A Biohazard Story a top prize is its cast. The Keeper is played by Charlie Kraslavsky, who RE fans may recognize if they played the Resident Evil Directors Cut version back in the day. Which as a fan was so amazing!
