Thank the gods, I thought I was the only one who found this version disgusting. I haven't watched all the international LOL shows (so far I've seen Brazil, Poland, Colombia, &Thailand). I'm going to watch Ireland, Denmark & Germany soon! But so far this Filipino take on LOL has been very gross. Even grosser than the Colombian one. But at least in this Filipino one you didn't see any butts. So I'll give the Filipinos that! I only recognize some of the comedians the others I do not know. So I'm just wondering whether the ones I'm not familiar with could do better? And be less gross?
There is alot of physical comedy and by physical I mean: blowing in one's ear, tongue kissing by accident, blowing on one's face, a man putting his crotch & butt in front of the contestants faces & so on. OK I'm not gonna lie here that scene when Jerald acted like an exercise instructor and put his crotch on their faces had me laughing to the point I was in tears! Crazy that this was the only gig that made me laugh that hard throughout the entire show. As for the other gigs If I was a comedian there I just give up because it's not even worth the prize. This felt more like "Fear Factor" or "Jacka**" than LOL. And there are a-lot of poop mentions and one comedian who says "I need to poop" (but why? Why tell us that? Keep that yourself man) after he just farted. Another comedian said a comedian's head smells like poop & his breath stinks like week-old onions. Honestly, I don't want to remember all the disgusting details that I had to endure. Because I would just gag again. Also I hated what Tuesday did with her homeless woman performance. I thought it was just degrading and infantile. And of course it ends up being disgusting with...you guess it....poop!! Jfc may the gods help me.
I thought I was going to love this more than LOL Thailand. After I saw Thailand, I was like "the Filipinos are going to slay harder!!". I was so hyped for this one! My sister had just started working at a restaurant, and she's a chef there. She would sometimes bring home delicious food, so whenever she brought the delicious food, I would eat that food while watching the show & stopped doing it cuz BIG FREAKING MISTAKE. The show just feels more like junior high humor. I know Filipinos can do better than this. I mean, yes, there are lots of Filipinos out there who want better representation in comedy movies (I feel so sorry for them whenever I read those Letterboxd reviews for a Filipino comedy flick I might want to watch). But I know there is way better humor than what I just witnessed here on LOL.
According to Wikipedia, there is no mention of a season two. Ha I can see why! But I really hope there is a season two. A redemption season. The best thing about this LOL was Vice. Vice Ganda was my favorite host out of all the LOL hosts! I cared more about Vice than the comedians themselves.
