Kai Wilton directed this play for Danish TV in both 1959 and 1960. Most actors were the same in both productions, however in 1960 Hans Kurt was replaced by Poul Reichhardt and Troels Munk by Helge Scheuer. In the 1950'es, many TV plays were broadcast live without being taped. Performance could be saved when another version was recorded on film directly before or after the direct transmission. Other successful plays were performed multiple times to be broadcast in new versions often only a few years apart.
