Babli

This film is based on #BuddhadebGuha's famous novel of the same name, which depicts an unusual love story rekindling between handsome Abhiroop and chubby Damayanti aka Babli on their car-ride from Imphal ( Manipur ) to Dimapur ( Nagaland ). But Babli started to feel vulnerable after knowing that her air hostess friend Jhuma is also attracted to Abhiroop.

The screenplay and direction by #RajChakraborty is brilliant. He is true to his craft and his narrative style is simple and linear.

The dialogues by #SouvikBhattacharya is engaging.

#ManasGanguly being the cinematographer steals the show by adding grandeur to the frames of the North-Eastern beauty.

#SanglapBhowmik's editing is poorest to the core, dragging the film extensively by 20 minutes.

Music Director #IndradeepDasgupta couldn't deliver a worth-remembering music this time.

As per the performances are concerned, #AbirChatterjee as Abhiroop was brilliant. He looked handsome and charming. #SubhashreeGanguly as Damayanti alias Babli was superb too. Her character has got lot of undertones and shades of complexities which she has ably pulled off. #SauraseniMaitra as the air-hostess Jhuma Bose lent great support. #SohiniSengupta as Babli's aunt was nice in her special appearance, but she has got nothing to do much. #KoushikSen as Nimesh Kaka was good along with #ReshmiSen as Nimesh Kaka's wife. #SandipBhattacharya as the author was good too in his special appearance.
