Freaky Friday, Addams Edition: Weird, Witty, and Winning
Ep 6 "Woe Thyself" is the Freaky Friday twist I didn't know I needed. 8.5/10
What starts as a desperate attempt to reclaim psychic powers spirals into a body swap... with Wednesday trapped in Enid's lively form and vice versa. To watch Ortega embody Enid's bounce and Myers home in on Wednesday's stillness is jaw-dropping matched performance... so much in sync I couldn't stop applauding it.
The consequences are more than comedic: Enid's outrage at color brings real drama ("allergic" to brightness), while Wednesday flirts awkwardly with warmth. The episode strengthens their emotional bond, and rewrites premonition stakes.
Then there's the cameo: Lady Gaga herself, drifting in as Rosaline Rotwood's spirit to warn Wednesday about the Raven's Gaze. On paper, it's genius... tying the viral "Bloody Mary" dance craze to the show proper. In practice, it's a 90-second drop-in that sets the swap in motion and then vanishes.
A few logic shortcuts exist - because, series magic - but this installment redeems Part 2's pacing with creativity, character, and genuine laughs. It's weird, warm, and wildly well-played. Exactly the kind of weird Wednesday should be doing.

No Woe Here
Let's start at the end. Emma Myers and Jenna Ortega are incredible. Anyone who watches this, is going to see that plainly. They've both entered into the realm of Christina Ricci's smile from "Family Values". I spent the entire time in disbelief over just how incredible it was to watch this episode!
Let's talk about the season up to this point. It's been fantastic! The number of setups and payoffs feels as if the story tellers know how to write for streaming services. The twists feel earned but also pulling a thin line between threaded intent and gotcha for the sake of it. Either way, the team is bringing their best this season.
Let's talk about how the rest of the family is finding space in this season. In the last, we pretty much received all of Wednesday. They were wise to give us a dark hero we honestly love. The satire stretches back into its roots in this season, and the likes of Guizman and Jones really give this series engaging adult figures.
Let's return to Ortega and Myers. What they do in this episode is incredible. I was bouncing in my seat. They took each other to a level of acting I never expected but my heart earnestly yearned to experience.
Let's talk about the dialog. It is both humbling and elevating. The lessons they learned from this episode, how they both articulate it as characters, is so pitch perfect my head hurts (in a good way).
Thank you for this show and this episode. This series is quickly becoming my favorite. Thank you for working so hard at elevating it to a masterpiece.

Easily the best episode
Easily the best episode of the whole series. Yes.
It has its downsides of course but we can truly see the heart of the show interacting and watching their development in a fun way. Emma Myers and Jenna Ortega blew this completely out the water, outstanding performances from both of them. The show thrives when these two get to act around each other, easily the best chemistry here.

Freaky Wednesday
It's a very good episode with lots of great moments including some twists and turns that resembles a sequel launched this year - No spoilers.
It somehow gave me a nostalgic feeling, reminding me of the classic Adam's Family movies with Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston, but with a much more darker tone.

Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesThe name under which Morticia publishes steamy romance novels, Barbara Jean Day, was the name of Charles Addams' first wife, often rumored to have been the inspiration behind the character of Morticia--though according to the executive director of the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation this is not true.
- GaffesDort says luckily no one got hurt, but one local had his brain sucked out by Slurp. However, Dort clearly means nobody at Nevermore got hurt in the Hyde attack despite the Sheriff and her deputies leaving them (to go handle an emergency which they knew WAS happening, as opposed to an attack on the remembrance march which they only THOUGHT might happen).

Professor Orloff: We may never know who we were attached to. You can't see yourself as an appendage, but as a whole person, worthy of love and respect. We are more than just the sum of our parts. But sometimes, the parts are greater than the whole.
