I'm not sure show which show that 'mindlessmovie' commenter watched but Coming From America is an interesting, intriguing show and I hope to see more episodes of it in the US. Max only released 6 episodes so far. It's beautiful seeing African Americans and other members of the African diaspora return to their roots. The people in the countries where they moved to welcomed them with open arms and it was beautiful seeing the naming ceremony as well as the beauty Africa has to offer. Ofc things will never be perfect, there is a lot of culture shock, which is expected, but life is what you make it. This was a nice glimpse of their new lives, I hope to see an update soon.
I watched the series and it was a nice surprise, There is no other show like it. The series provides a view into the lives of 4 American families that migrate to the continent of Africa. 2 of 4 families were not prepared and it shows their adjustment to the food and culture over time. The series is upbeat and entertaining.
I'm anxious to see if HBO MAX will do a season 2, because there's so much more of a storyline to uncover. For example season 2 could focus on Ayo and Tony's bed and breakfast. Another series could focus on the lives of the expat community and so on. By the way the Jones family were my absolute favorite, I have been following them 4 years on Expat Life Ghana.

Coming From America: A Refreshing Journey of Self-Discovery
HBO Max's "Coming From America" is a breath of fresh air in the reality TV landscape. As a Black man, I found this show to be incredibly refreshing. Following these families on their journey to rediscover their African roots was an emotional and engaging experience that exceeded my expectations.
The show's premise is simple yet powerful: four African American families take a leap of faith and move to Africa in search of a new beginning. Each episode offers a glimpse into their challenges, triumphs, and personal growth as they navigate cultural differences and embrace their heritage.
What sets "Coming From America" apart is its positive and uplifting tone. In a television world often saturated with negativity and drama, this show shines a light on hope, resilience, and the beauty of human connection. It's a testament to the power of family, the importance of cultural identity, and the pursuit of a better life.
The show's potential is limitless. I would eagerly watch every season, each featuring different families embarking on this transformative journey. "Coming From America" not only entertains but also educates and inspires. It highlights the rich diversity of the African continent and showcases the positive impact these families have on their new communities.
This is a must-watch series for anyone seeking a heartwarming and thought-provoking television experience. More than just entertainment, "Coming From America" is a celebration of heritage, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams. Here's hoping HBO Max renews it for many seasons to come!

I'm loving the series so far minus some of the focus on Gerald (the comedian). I'm not feeling his schtick but I realize most people probably enjoy the constant "funny" stuff during the times his family his on screen.
I feel like I'm watching a Youtube video spliced together with various families and honestly, I love that. This journey that these families are on is tremendous and I'm so thankful that more stories like these have been coming to the forefront over the last decade for Black people. Africa is rich, diverse and definitely different than what we are used to here in the states so of course there will be growth and change to come. I'm hoping the show will dive into this growth as well as costs, community building, culture, food, feelings and much more.

After episode 1 there have been 3 families introduced. Will the 4th family show soon? Will another episode be released? Inquiring minds want to know. Especially since this was already released in Canada. Enjoying it so far but wanting more. Hoping the 4th family goes to a different city and or country. Also, why is it originating in the UK when it's about American Families. I also did not know, prior to seeing this that so many American families are making the decision to move to Africa. I am glad they are chasing after their ancestral roots. It will be interesting to see if they decide to stay or return to the USA.
