Avis à la une
I honestly expected more from this drama. There was a lot of hype surrounding it.
The story starts off nicely with two young people falling in love in Japan. Gradually, we observed their inner struggles with their feelings and personal desires, which step by step led them to break up.
The other part takes place in Seoul. The main actors meet again after several years. Their lives seem to have changed significantly, but not their feelings for each other.
In my opinion, the constant flashbacks and lack of emotional expression create a poor narrative for the main couple, who seemed confused and not clearly in love. In the end, I found the story tiresome. However, the direction was well-executed.

Korean Drama '' What Comes After Love '' is a romantic melodrama about two lovers from different countries and different views on love.
The drama handles the back and forth nicely, even though the timeline wasn't linear. Still, it was easy to follow and that approach gave the drama more edge and the story more emotional impact.
The story itself was interesting, though there were times, like the final episodes, that it was a series of miscommunications that got things frustrating. Also, that is when the drama started getting into tropes.
Still, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

I totally get what other reviewers are whining about when they say there are too many flashbacks in this series. Because, wow, they're not wrong. It's like every time you blink, bam, we're back in the past, replaying the same sad, emotional moments that got us here. Maybe a few less flashbacks would've made this series a bit less of a time-traveling headache.
Is it a heartbreaking story? Yeah, absolutely. And it got me good. I won't lie, this series made me cry like a baby at the most unexpected moments. You think you're safe? Nope. One minute you're rolling your eyes at the drama, and the next, you're wiping away tears. The emotional punches land.
But honestly, you can't help but get invested. There's a reason they keep dragging us through the past-because the emotional payoff eventually hits hard.

I'm not sure I've ever wished more for a love story to have a happy ending, and yes, the writing of the characters is massively important in viewers becoming attached and wanting things to work out, but equally important is the actor's portrayal and both Sakaguchi Kentaro and Lee Se Young deliver flawless performances as a young madly in love couple driven apart by poor communication, cultural differences and the loneliness one of them faces living in a different country.
Five years after their separation they meet again but will they overcome these differences or accept their love was a blessing best left in the past?
Both actors are so impressive in this drama, but I also have to mention the direction. Wow! Just stunning. Visually beautiful and with a depth that you don't always get in a love story. I'll be looking out for more work from all 3.
This is yet another top class Asian drama that will live long in the memory. Please watch.

This is the best love story movie/TV show I have ever watched. It is so artistic and very well crafted, featuring amazing acting and cinematography. The two main characters are excellently cast, with outstanding chemistry between them. Thank you for bringing this to the world. I began watching it after all the episodes had aired. I casually started around 11 at night and ended up finishing all six episodes by the next morning without skipping a single second. No recent drama has been able to do that. It feels like reading a book with visuals. Not trying to compare, but Hollywood, Bollywood, and Kollywood are way behind when it comes to emotional dramas like this.
