Leonard Cohen: If It Be Your Will

I was expecting the usual formulaic pop/rock tribute/biopic here but was very pleasantly surprised by this thoughtful and heartfelt tribute to the iconic Leonard Cohen.

The majority of this film is from tribute performances from a wide range of contemporary artists at an event in Montreal 12 months after Leonard Cohen's death. These live performances are interspersed with archival footage from throughout Leonard's entire life and interviews with the artists involved in the concert. The editing involved in making this film flow as well as it does is quite exceptional.

The performances chosen for the film are also excellent and probably result in the best performances of Leonard's work recorded.
