The Thing About Pain

Of course I had never heard about the 2024 drama "The Thing About Pain" prior to watching it, as my exposure to the Nigerian cinema is extremely limited. But with it being am movie that I had neither seen nor heard about, of course I had to check it out and see what director Victor Onwudiwe and writer Ikenna Okpara had to offer.

I can't claim to say that writer Ikenna Okpara delivered a script and storyline that entertained me. I struggled hard to find anything interesting in the narrative, and the character gallery had the appeal of watching wet paint dry. I gave up on the movie 41 minutes into the ordeal, as I was bored out of my mind.

Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Despite the fact that the storyline was boring, then the acting performances were actually fair enough.

This was definitely not my cup of tea. Nor is it a movie that I would recommend you to waste 105 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to attempt finish watching.

My rating of director Victor Onwudiwe's 2024 movie "The Thing About Pain" lands on a two out of ten stars.
