I gave this a chance to become at least watchable, but despite a group of talented and respected actresses, it became another one of an ever increasing line of pointless plots to bring in female viewers.

This along with ' Riot Women ' appears to be the gateway to prolong the careers of aging actresses.

Is this really the best of British TV ? An unthrilling crime drama set in an empty Spain? Everyone is 'acting' and none of it seems real at all. It looks as tho its been made on a minuscule budget with a script knocked up on the back of an envelope. I have three episodes to go so i guess i better stick with it. It will get better won't it ?

The final episode was good but if took s long time getting there.

Doctor Who transports Doctor Foster and a good Northern cast to Malaga (actually Tenerife!) for a heist which could just have easily (and feasibly) done in Manchester nicking a painting from The Lowry.

With Suranne and Jodie seemingly never off our screens, they change their hair colours for this to distract from the fact.

As with all modern dramas men (particularly white ones) are made to look foolish, weak or evil succumbing to the plotting of the main characters and the locals (particularly thd police and security staff) are treated in the same manner.

There is a twist in the tale to live up episode 6 but it's a long time getting there.

The finale improves what would have been a very low star rating despite the hype in the media around the show.

I think I will hate myself for the rest of my life for having watched this rubbish which in the end manages to reach such a level of unbearability that I have not seen in any other TV series, the thing that makes me angry the most is that I liked the two protagonists before this TV series so I want to forget this series as soon as possible, so as to think of the two protagonists for all the beautiful TV series they have made, one of the two protagonists was also the creator of this TV series, and if anyone is thinking that there will be a second season which will be better, both the series and the ending, but what a second season this true series is forgotten in the space of a month!

Dire, cliche'd, pedestrian - UK TV at its worst. Awful locations considering what's available in Spain, boring plot, barely dragged out of the mire by reasonably reputable actors, doing their best with a poor scripts. I managed to get through Ep.1, trying to see what Lucy Mangan sees in it, only to give up entirely as it was so tedious.

Yeah ok it's not the best heist series I've ever seen but after binge watching this I thought it was very good. Got to be aware of the people on here that are obviously trolls. Basically if they dislike an actress like Suzanne they hate everything she does regardless of the quality of the performance. Knew it would end in a sequel. I personally hope it gets one as I enjoyed it. Ignore the fun police. Some people won't find joy in anything.

Interesting slant: all the main UK dailies rate this programme highly, really highly, when the series is obviously flawed (budget, location, script etc), so is there some form of journalistic cartel at work?

Why the hate? Could it be a cast of strong women taking the lead? The script is good, the acting is fantastic, there are a few moments where incredulity is stretched, but it's entertainment! Remember that.

I guarantee you, if this was an all male cast, like it's been for time immemorial, it would be very different ratings. It's well put together and nicely paced, with nice little twists and turns, and character development, I have no idea what people expect anymore, it's 2025, time to accept that the world has changed. For the better. Great TV show.

Fun, entertaining, easy watch. Don't watch this expecting a BAFTA winning drama! Watch it for the chemistry between Suranne and Jodie. Watch it because it's a fun caper not a deep thriller. I binged it over a couple of days and really enjoyed it - ignore the one star reviews they were clearly expecting Breaking Bad.

I spent the entire episode waiting for it to get better. It didn't.

I really expected more from the two lead actresses who frequently star in made for TV drama series which are usually watchable and for which they are praised.

It really is bad don't bother watching.

Great idea for a story with two old mates getting back together for one final heist. Set in southern Spain in some areas those familiar with the area may not have seen before. The chemistry between the two leads works splendidly but by far the stand out actor is Suranne Jones, charismatically stealing the show in every scene she's in, which is most of them. Lots of flash backs and forward keep the story ticking over at a good rate and some extra interest in the lead's illness diagnosis having only month left to live....or has she? 2 episodes watched and so far really good, very enjoyable, with charismatic leads. Twists and turns aplenty with lots still to go I'm sure. Best of all the show seems to have upset all the incels and misogynists - 2 female leads, shock, horror. As usual, ignore the low scores, ignore the very high scores - average is around 7 or 8 - spot on!

This is a fun, entertaining watch. It's not supposed to be like the Godfather or Broadwalk Empire and thank goodness it isn't, as those depress me. But, I binged this over a couple of days and found it good fun with a really good cast.

It doesn't take much thinking about, and has some silly but good moments. I'd happily watch it again.

I don't understand what all the hate for Suranne Jones is. For goodness sake grow up! If you don't like someone's work, don't watch it, and don't bother commenting to just spew negativity, purely based on your own opinion, because you don't like them, with nothing more critical than a personal attack. Move on and do something better with your time and perhaps move out of your mother's basement. She's never going to be Maggie Smith, but she's not terrible to watch.

Despite recent reviews, I watched the first episode to give it a chance. What a waste of an hour.... They say you are only as good as your last performance and this is a shocker!

The screenplay is awful, the storyline full of holes - how can two people with absolutely no money, create a gang to carry off a major heist on the pretence they will sell a piece of art of £10m.....really? All the characters are weak. A stark contrast to Jodie and Suranne's previous performances on TV.....really disappointing.

The comedy is cringe worthy and am so glad I am not going to watch any other episodes. Don't waste your time watching....there is better on TV.

Frauds was an uncomfortable watch from the beginning. There's no chemistry between the two leads and we thought the acting was awful. The media has heaped praise on Suranne Jones but why? Her performance was wooden and she made us cringe. The fake hair, clunky dialogue and pacing made this a chore to watch. Things were so bad that the leads were upstaged by a donkey which brought some humour into this stale thriller. It didn't make the cast list which was a shame because it was the best thing in it. We gave up half-way through episode 1 because we couldn't take any more. We'd have given up after 15 minutes but we thought we weren't giving it a proper chance. I don't know what the press are watching but it's not a 4 ot 5 star tv show. It's a 1. It's well named though it's an absolute fraud. You should find something else to watch.

Watched first episode and I won't be watching any more. Jodie Whittaker been in far better series apart from Dr Who!, Suranne Jones for me was best in Scott and Bailey.

Jones seems to be TV producers' favourite but to me she plays, well to be blunt, Suranne Jones. Not sure how many Episodes of this but for me 1 too many.

I don't understand the 1 star reviews. Yes there are a few silly bits and over the top jokes but its a good story and really fun. Only watched 3 episodes so far but very good.

Suranne and Jodie have great chemistry and Elizabeth Berrington is one of my favourites-she is good in anything.

I'm giving this one star for Jodie and one star for Suranne. But aside from those two, I'm baffled as to why the critics gave this show such glowing reviews. Given the subject matter and tone (or attempted tone), you'd expect this to be fun and breezy viewing. Unfortunately, I found it to be a bit of real slog and gave up during the third episode. An example, though, of how little fun this show is: episode 2 has the two leads pulling of a heist. However, we only see the aftermath and none of the planning or execution of the actual job. Aren't those the entertaining parts of this kind of show?? Such a missed opportunity.

Staggeringly poor. How did this get on mainstream television. I can not see anything positive to say about this. El Dorado, with some bad touches. The chicken was the most believable character in this thoroughly disappointing 50 minutes that I will never get back. Please stay away from this if you value your sanity.

Well worth watching funny, thoughtful with excellent characters and intriguing plot lines !! You're genuinely routing for the characters and wanting to see how the story develops and the plot unravels!

Jodie Whittaker and Surrane Jones play their parts to a tee and the chemistry is brilliant and realistic.

And loud music, not enough plot..

Could only stand the first 40 minutes before a migraine threatened. Will not be watching the other episodes.

A dysfunctional relationship between a convict released on compassionate grounds and a friend who undertook to look after her as a condition of commutation of sentence does not need to consume so much air time particularly with thee main character wailing like a banshee for the majority of her lines.

I absolutely adore Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker and was really looking forward to this but it was such a huge disappointment. You could guess most of the plot twists from the first episode, the story is disjointed and quickly becomes tedious, repetitive and boring. The acting from the main characters is brilliant, but wasn't enough to carry the series and by the end I didn't care if their heist succeeded or not. The story would have been more enjoyable compacted down into a movie.

I really don't understand how they've managed to make this series feel so drab and utterly uncompelling. Such a shame, as the concept sounds promising.

Uninspiring direction and cinematography, combined with a terrible, slow script really makes it impossible not to feel like you are watching a bunch of actors rather than believing in the characters.

Essentially this is a soap opera quality thriller. Watchable, but extremely mediocre.

Absolutely loved this and just disappointed I streamed the entire thing in one day!

The first two episodes do a great job in setting up the series and draw you in! Characters are played so well by SJ and JW and Lee Boardman as the most despicable magician is fantastic.

Would highly recommend watching the first two episodes back to back and then try to stop yourself watching the rest in one go.

This is so transparently obviously a case of 'we have these two women, what can we do with them?'. A heist story was chosen 'because it's a pretty male genre'. Really, that's a reason? Perhaps they should have reflected that it's a genre which is difficult to do well and easy to do badly; but I suspect that the other thing which appealed - from the writer's point of view - is that it is a genre in which the story more or less writes itself. After the crippling wokeness of everything, and the apparent inability to write dialogue that isn't lamer than Long John Silver, that is the big problem in UK TV drama: the struggle to come up with interesting stories. Hence ITV's increasing focus on real-life stuff.

From the point of view of the actors, who have always tended to be frightfully sensible middle-class types, no doubt they were excited about the idea of toting guns and getting to do cool poses for the publicity. But if they thought they were going to look cool in the actual show, they have another think coming.
