Millionaire is one of the most wonderful documentaries I've seen in a long time. What makes it truly special is that the people on screen are not professional actors, but real farmers and family members telling and reliving their own story. That gives the film a raw honesty and authenticity that you rarely find in cinema. You can feel their emotions in every gesture -the joy, the frustration, the humor, and the pain- and it makes the whole experience incredibly powerful.
I loved how the film shows not just the drama of losing a winning lottery ticket, but also the everyday life of a humble family from the Chilean countryside, with all its struggles, traditions, and dreams. It's impossible not to connect with them and to reflect on the bigger question the movie asks: can money really change people?
This is a film that goes beyond entertainment. It stays with you, it makes you think, and it makes you feel close to people and places you may have never known. Honest, moving, and unforgettable.

Was horribly executed. It was all over the place. It was an interesting story, but whoever directed it did a horrible job. Could have been much better. I fast forwarded it to see the ticket scandal. No idea what the horse racing had to do with it. It was way drawn out, and it just didn't draw you in. I would recommend skipping it.
I'm always disappointed by Netflix documentaries, and this one is no exception. The story itself it's really interesting, but if you read just one short news article, it is very likely that you will have the complete case, and this documentary won't give you any further detail or unknown facts, everything is covered and published somewhere else. The storytelling is good, but I'm sure that the same thing could have been presented in a lot shorter version, there is no need for over an hour and a half. Despite that, the photography is really good, and there are some nicely reenacted parts. If you know the events from the news, I cannot recommend this. If you do not, it might be interesting.
