I watched this show with trepidation expecting it to be another hit and miss, or even plain miss, of a mini-series. I was more then pleasantly suprised when the show proved not only to be hilarious but a much needed break from the vapid 'reality' shows that have come to expunge any palatability from our viewing pleasure. The 'bad acting', or 'showing the truth' as Garth puts it, is amazingly funny. This is especially true in the character of Garth's boss and the chef (The Office's Stephan Merchant). Overall, it can tend to be a bit tedious by the end but at the moment it is hysterical and I can't wait to see where they go from here.

When I said that I 'didn't really like Kill Bill' I was met with confused and often offensive retorts. I acknowledged the style, I took on board the cinematic quality and merit. I grimaced, jumped and became enthralled in what has been billed as THE film of the year. However, for me, it didn't seem to click. It had everything I needed but it felt lacking. Tarantino's quirky dialogue was sporadic and often abscence, although its merit in this picture could be questioned. I also became bored and my mind wandered as The Bride took the length of my life to get Hattori Hanzo out of retirement to then construct her weapon of choice. It seems that this will indeed as the title reads require a second viewing and hopefully results will vary.

I woke up late and caught this mad-capped adventure of a movie around noon with misty eyes and a dosey head...luckily the film did not cause me to think on too great a level and so it was easy to enjoy. Notable appearances by a young, and rather funny looking, Seth Green of Buffy and Austin Powers fame was followed by the even more shocking appearance of soon to be huge actor...Jack Black.The Tenacious D frontman appeared as a cocky yet loveable class clown eagerly awaiting the prime bait of 'surfer dude' Shane McDermott. The film was simplistic...boy moves away - boy gets picked on - boy fucks up - boy regains trust - boy = hero....and some sub-plotted love story that made no sense as the lead's love interest suddenly hated him for no reason...but he one her back by stripping her ex of his pants...go figure. Overall good film, excellent stunts by Team Blade and some pretty cool action segments...but one nasty one of Jack Black ending up bow-legged on a tree...nasty...anyways I enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone after a night out getting drunk as a movie to sober up to.
