"Foundation is an American science fiction television series created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman for Apple TV+, based on the Foundation series of stories by Isaac Asimov. It features an ensemble cast led by Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey. The series premiered on September 24, 2021. In October 2021, Foundation was renewed for a second season, which premiered on July 14, 2023. In December 2023, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on July 11, 2025. In September 2025, the series was renewed for a fourth season.
Plot "In the far future, most of the known galaxy is despotically ruled by a triumvirate of leaders collectively known as Empire: the "genetic dynasty" of clones of the long-deceased Emperor Cleon, which include Brother Day, a Cleon in his prime; Brother Dusk, a retired and aging Cleon who serves in an advisory role; and Brother Dawn, a young Cleon being trained to succeed Brother Day. Unknown beyond the walls of Empire's keep is that the dynasty has been surreptitiously administered for 400 years by the regal Lady Demerzel, Empire's majordomo, secretly a unique, ageless humanoid robot, thought to be the last remnant of an army of robots defeated 6,000 years prior.
"Young prodigy Gaal Dornick solves a complex mathematical proof and wins a galaxy-wide contest, devised by famed mathematician and psychology professor Hari Seldon to find another mind capable of understanding his work. Arriving on the capital planet Trantor, Gaal is thrust into the center of a conflict between the Cleonic dynasty and Seldon's schools surrounding the merits of psychohistory, which was created by Seldon to predict the events and actions of large masses of people across vast timelines.
"With Gaal to verify his findings, Seldon explains and publicly forecasts the decay and imminent fall of the empire, which cannot be averted, but the consequences of which may be mitigated by the creation of a Foundation to preserve the collective knowledge and innovations of humanity. The Cleons are initially dismissive of Seldon, but following the first of a series of predicted catastrophic events leading to the fall, tentatively allow him and his followers to establish the Foundation in exile on the remote planet Terminus.
"The series chronicles Empire's subsequent conflicts with the flowering Foundation and its allies over the course of the passing centuries, the characters and stories that bridge the divide between them, and how the galaxy's future is imperiled by the one event Seldon's psychohistory fails to predict."
My Review:
The New Star Wars Of Our Time
I love good science fiction, both in books, movies or TV series'. I know I enjoyed reading Isaac Azimov's Foundation series when the books were published, seemingly half a century ago. But, it had been so long since I read them that I really didn't remember the story after so many years.
However, when the Foundation TV series came out, I immediately gravitated toward watching it. The journey through Seasons 1 and 2 were enjoyable, and the most recent Season 3 was a pinnacle reached in the story so far!
There have been lots of great SciFi series' produced in the last several decades, The Expanse, the Star Wars spinoffs, The Man In the High Castle, the Dune series', The Game of Thrones, The Shadow Hunters, The 100, Roswell, For All Mankind, Snow Piercer, Under the Dome, Being Human, and Lost, to name just a few of my favorites.
And, while not as fantastic as The Expanse, the Foundation TV Series is far more complex, and rivals any of the best Science Fiction series' or films. The story is deep and complex, the plot thrilling and exciting, and the production spared no expense to equal, or exceed, that of any Star Wars film. The production was both massive and believable.
The state of the art graphics and special effects in the Foundation series' are beyond what almost any motion picture in previous years, and decades, have been able to produce. Which may be, of course, because of the advance of technology and science in film making in today's modern world.
The Direction was extraordinary. The writing follows much of Isaac Azimov's books, which takes the viewer on a thrill-ride, spreading multiple plots into separate parallel stories for well developed characters, and then bringing them back to the main theme.
The acting is excellent, the casting terrific, the costumes and wardrobes spectacular, and the writing and screenplay superb. The plot is great, but the story itself is so intricate and complex it may be difficult for many viewers to understand or appreciate without having to watch the series over again several times. My only criticism was with Azimov's writing, and the believability of Empire, the three Cleon Emperors.
. Seasons 1 and 2 were quite enjoyable. And, it's actually fitting that I can't remember the story from the Foundation books I read so many years ago. Because, now, I don't know what happens in the end. The ending of Season 3 leaves the viewer with somewhat of an ending to some of the story line, but also somewhat of a beginning to others, or perhaps a beginning, as they say, of the end. So, now, I wait for sometime in 2026 when presumably Foundation Season 4 will be released.

"Untamed is an American crime drama television series for Netflix set in Yosemite National Park starring Eric Bana, Lily Santiago, Rosemarie DeWitt and Sam Neill. It was released on July 17, 2025, on Netflix. Originally pitched as a limited miniseries, it was renewed for a second season in July 2025.
Premise: "In the vast expanse of Yosemite National Park, a woman's death draws a federal agent into lawless terrain, where nature obeys no rules but its own."
My review: I found this crime drama to be quite enjoyable. The story held my interest, the characters and the plot believable, and, that it was filmed in Yosemite was a huge plus.
I had spent quite a few summer days of my youth vacationing in Yosemite, whether back packing into the untamed wilds in the high country, or pitching a tent in campgrounds in the valley. So, the scenery brought back memories.
I found the production and direction to be quite good. The writing was good as well and the plot had enough twists and turns to add suspense and adventure, yet continue the uncertainty of who the perpetrator was in the minds of the viewer of this 'who done it".
The story was well written and thought out, the characters were complex, well developed, and interesting, the acting was excellent.
Again, the production and direction were really excellent! I'd recommend this series to anyone who likes action, drama and a good story.
