Amazing story, great writing, lovable characters, and GORGEOUS art. This anime does a stellar job taking ONE's art style and translating it into a AAA studio worth animation series. Bones seriously did a mind boggling job with the art and animation here, with some of the most dynamic movement and experimental art effects I've seen in my entire life. And add that on top of interesting shot composition and camera movement, and this series is better than most of the high budget stuff Hollywood pumps out every year. That alone makes it worth a watch.
The writing and character development is also remarkable, but that's largely because of ONE's masterpiece manga as the studio was extremely faithful to the source material. Mob Psycho 100 is best enjoyed if you're aware of all the shounen tropes it subverts, but it still can be enjoyed without it. The characters are all so unique and likable it's impossible to watch this show and not find a single character that will shoot up your list of favorite fictional people for half a year. I personally love Reigen and Mob, and I would lay down my life for them with no hesitation. Definitely watch this show if you haven't, it's going down the halls of anime history as a classic!

Not only is this show gorgeously styled and amazingly animated, but the story is stellar as well. I'd recommend going into it as blind as possible as my favorite story arc is Los Angeles Connection and it has a lot of twists and turns. The characters are charismatic and lovable, and have great development considering it's short 14 episode run and the show's relatively complex plot points. Some say it's a bit shallow, but it's tonally consistent the entire way through and does a great job keeping you engaged and entertained the entire time, which is all I need out of a 14 episode Netflix original. I also think it does a good job addressing the three large themes explored in each respective arc through the back stories of the characters, and not a single scene feels wasted.
However, I will admit the third story arc was probably the most boring one and Edamura's character felt a bit flat and idiotic to me, but it still kept me amused. I think it's just an example of how the show really shines when it's focusing on plot with character motivations/backstories as a pushing undercurrent vs. when it doubles down on flashbacks for an entire episode, leaving you wondering where the plot and urgency went. But it's the shortest arc with one less episode than the other two and it's towards the end, so I really didn't mind. That dip in story quality is why I dinged a star on this review.
The art direction in this show is amazing, the colors are drop dead gorgeous. The stylization of the backgrounds keeps it simple but still conveys the size and overall tone of the location. The character design is great, and the animation is even better. There were a lot of beautiful eye candy moments that made me want to pause the show and stare. Also, all of the characters are just so so hot. It's definitely a 10/10 for animation and art direction for me.
Lastly, I just wanna put out how good the dub is! It's multilingual and has great performances (particularly from Lareunt's english VA). Definitely give it a shot, and don't be confused that it's still in japanese at first. That's intentional. Until about halfway into the first episode, the dub is only in English when the characters are actually speaking English, which I feel really makes this anime feel international, because it is! It has a pretty diverse cast, and deals with the different locations and cultures they encounter on their travels very well. This is the first anime in a long time that I've genuinely preferred the dub over the sub.
Overall, this show is really good! I highly recommend it to any anime fan, and even people who are just getting into anime! The writing itself does feel very western, almost like a Hollywood script. Definitely give it a try if you haven't!
