I really wanted to watch this. Even if it was my guilty pleasure. Even if I understood from the first episodes that this is not a Science Fiction series.
In fact this is a series that makes any Alien movie a philosophical essay.
And it actually wants to be taken seriously.
I would have tried to laugh if there was any sarcasm at all. Anywhere; at any episode. There isn't.
And there is absolutely ZERO (0) criticism or societal commentary, at least not until the 3rd season that I forced myself to watch. Sure there are bad guys and good guys but the UNITED STATES are the best.
And then there's action. I lost count at how many enemies drop dead when the "US Navy" has to confront enemies. No, seriously, 5 regular US Navy dudes embark on an infiltration mission of an enemy encampment that holds an unknown number of "combatants". But they are known to be in their dozens. So what? Sure, I get it... They deal with Middle Eastern combatants at a rate of 100:1. And Russian combatants at 30:1. But those mentioned above are US and European trained soldiers. You know... NATO stuff. Meh, who cares? 25:0.
Avoid at all costs. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities in this piece of absolute... ship.
