1922 felt like a bleak story with no real point. The final line, "In the end, we all get caught," tries to sound profound but comes off hollow, especially with such a poorly written and unbelievably stupid sheriff. If this was meant as a moral warning, it fails badly. Instead of being disturbing or deep, it's just slow and pointless.
While The Walk is visually impressive, it often feels more like a glossy spectacle than an honest portrayal of Philippe Petit's story. Joseph Gordon-Levitt delivers a committed performance, but the exaggerated tone and theatrical narration sometimes made the character feel more like a caricature than a real person. Although the wire-walking sequence is tense and technically stunning, the film's heavy reliance on dramatization and its casual relationship with the truth undermined the emotional impact for me. Instead of a raw and deeply human story, I was left feeling that style had taken priority over authenticity.
