This movie sort of acts like a prequel to Rosemary's Baby, a film most would consider a classic and most sane people would wanna see live on it's own. Unfortunately, prequels or sequels or requels have all been prevalent in an industry that only really seeks to make money off of fans of the original or as an introduction horror's younger audiences. This movie does not take the characters of the original in any satisfying direction or create any new characters that you particularly care for.
The main character is just sort of dragged into situations by being extremely naive, not stopping to think about the strangeness of anything. All of the slow paranoia and dread that the first one masterfully drives to a satisfying conclusion is instead revealed or winked at early on so that -god forbid- the audience doesn't have to think or draw its own conclusions.
As a horror movie this is not even that scary. If it's not dragging, it's doing some musical number that only theater kids will enjoy. The suspense is, as mentioned above, kind of lost by providing a lot of exposition and creating avoidable scenarios for a character that only works as long as she's gullible.

Christopher Nolan should've talked to the researchers that made this movie possible when he made Interstellar...
This movie manages to perfectly combine realistic physics and very entertaining action sequences.
I think the biggest thing that detracts this movie is that it didn't feature Toto's Africa enough when the aliens clearly liked it at the beginning and that Lexus wasn't featured enough in the movie.
They also introduced the concept of gay aliens but did not elaborate, I hope the open ending leads to a more inclusive sequel.
Overall, it's a great movie.

After a slow introduction, this film soon becomes one of the most nightmarish horror experiences and you will surely be left with the most bitter taste ever.
Up to you whether this is a bad or good thing!
