When I saw "A Bills Love Story" pop up on Prime, I couldn't help but laugh at the situation. The first thing that came to mind was, "what famous person is dating a Bills player?". When I couldn't answer that question, I decided to just watch the movie.
Honestly, I thought they'd fumble this one. I enjoyed "A Chiefs Love Story", so I was skeptical on this one. Seriously though, not only did they get the touchdown, they also managed, barely, the two point conversion.
While I'm not a football fan, as a sports fan, I found the opening moments funny, and from there they continued down the field getting every down. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario. It starts off a little rigid as they discover their feelings for each other, but in the end it feels genuine. On top of that, the families felt genuine. While there's one main story that pulls you in, the rest of the cast does well to pull you into the family when it's their time to shine. My biggest green flag for this film was honestly Holland Roden. She brought the enthusiasm as a football fan, and you could feel the excitement she had talking about the Bills. It didn't feel cheesy like the "Chiefs" film.
I honestly think that this one was better than the Chiefs film because they weren't trying to imitate life. It felt like a genuine story of love. There were at least two, maybe three times in the film where I tested up simply because I could feel the emotional tones. So if you're looking for a new Hallmark film to watch this year, add this one to the list! Even if you're not a football fan. It's truly a "Holiday Touchdown".
That's it for now. Thanks for taking time to read my review. Happy watching and enjoy the show!

This is the worst Christmas movie ever. No one even says thank you for the gifts. They just lay there with their mouths open playing dead.
In all reality though, "Havoc" was much better than I anticipated. It's loaded with unlimited rounds with no reloads, blood squirting everywhere, and shaky camera shots to "intensify" the action. The story, while done before, is still good. There's good intensity to keep you engaged, and some sentimental parts that make it feel like you should care. I did find that the overload of shaky frames caused me to lose both focus and interest at times. I got lost in who the different players were on occasion simply because of the shaky cam, but overall I did enjoy myself.
Overall, this is definitely a movie to watch with the boys. Grab some snacks or beers and just relax. Tom Hardy is the primary reason to watch. I find he always plays the rough/scruffy character well. Don't count bullets to reloads because you'll drive yourself up the wall with that one.

I had no idea this film was releasing, but as I was going through a list of upcoming films, I came across the title and saw that Brendan Fraser was starring in it. Well, I got curious and watched the trailer and was immediately, and cautiously, pulled in.
Honestly, I thought this was going to be a cute, laugh out loud comedy with a bit of human emotion. Boy was I wrong. "Rental Family" is a lot deeper and darker than I could've imagined. It touches an emotion and characterization of the human psyche that I wouldn't have imagined for a film based on the name and poster. It looks like a fun, light-hearted film, but in reality it shows us a world where people are hurting. There's a void to be filled and we're looking for someone to fill that space.
The acting for me isn't anything spectacular. While it definitely draws in the human connection and emotion, and Brendan Fraser does great as the "token white guy", there's a still sense that things could've gone deeper. A more emotional impact could've been had to truly hammer home what it's like to rent someone.
The story itself is good, but I don't think it truly helped me appreciate the culture of Japan. I had to do a Google search to confirm the rental family market is real, and it is. Probably why the film was made, but I don't think it truly delves deep enough to let you feel enough of the raw emotion of why the market exists.
Overall, this is a must see movie in my opinion despite a lower score of what a top-notch film would be. While the pacing suffers, and it can feel kind of long at times, there's a lot to appreciate. You will definitely feel emotions. Personally, if I wasn't in public, I probably would've shed some tears because again, it all comes down to humanity. So this is a strong 6 upgraded to a 7 simply because I felt things, and that's what I expect out of any movie I see, especially one as random as this one.
