In the 1950s, she was hostess of a show that featured horror movies. She had catch phrases such as when she was closing the program. "It's midnight. All the stores are closed. It's time to go shopping." And when footprints were seen on the wall she'd say "Ah, my brother is home."
Sharp-featured character actress, a poor man's Margaret Hamilton. Played numerous spinsters, dowagers, gossips, forbidding nurses, governesses and saleswomen from the mid-'30s to the late '60s. Also briefly hosted horror films on KTLA in Los Angeles during the '50s.
