Her biography, "Beatrix," was adapted by Patrick Garland and Taylor in a Chichester Festival Production at the Minerva Studio Theatre in Chichester, West Sussex, England with Patricia Routledge in the cast. Patrick Garland was director.
Wrote her first book, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," as a letter to a
friend's children. She was encouraged by Hardwicke Rawnsley, vicar of
Wray Church, to turn it into a book, and she successfully
self-published it in 1902. It is believed to be the first picture story
book for children.
