With script writer Merle Miller, he co-wrote a book about the creation of a never-aired pilot for a proposed CBS adventure series called "Calhoun" which starred Jackie Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck. The show was never aired, but the book about the pilot's development called "Only You, Dick Darling" became a best-seller.
