Had two roles in Frankenstein (1931). He played Dr. Waldman and was the man who came out in the prologue to warn movie-goers that the film might be too much.
Stage: Played Van Helsing in the 1927 Broadway production of
"Dracula", with Bela Lugosi playing the Count.
His wife and son predeceased him.

He was cremated at Olivet Memorial Park in San Francisco after his family had a private funeral for him in its chapel, but they subsequently buried his urn at Boehm Cemetery in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
