Danny's mother, Virginia (Vega), is a painter who was born in Costa Rica, of Spanish descent. Danny's stepfather, Harvey Burstein, is a professor of Greek philosophy. Danny's biological parents separated when he was two months old, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather.
