While serving in the US Navy in 1972, Philip's ship, USS Ouellet, was scheduled to be used as a location in an episode of Hawaii 5-0, showing on February 29, 1972. Due to operational deployments, Ouellet was unavailable and replaced by the USS Rathburne. In the opening image, however, Ouellet made the shot as she prepared to put to sea.
