He acted in Rachel Crothers' play, "Susan and God," at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio with Gertrude Lawrence, Paul McGrath, John D. Seymour, Eleanor Audley, Fred Leslie, Edith Atwater, David Byrne, and Nancy Coleman in the cast. Jo Mielziner was set designer. Hattie Carnegie was costume designer. Rachel Crothers was also director.
