One of the biggest twists in "The Vampire Diaries" season 1 sees Vicki Donovan (Kayla Ewell) get staked. After being sired by Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), she develops an addiction to blood and becomes a danger to society, forcing the heroes to step in and save the day. Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) ultimately takes her out of the game in the Season 1 episode "Haunted," which was shocking at the time, as Vicki was one of the best characters on "The Vampire Diaries" early on.

On the November 24 episode of Maher’s Club Random podcast featuring Lara Trump — wife of Donald’s son, Eric Trump — as his guest, the Real Time With Bill Maher host called out Donald’s approach to undocumented immigrants. “That’s one of the reasons the natives are restless on your side, even your people,” Maher told Lara. “Because they voted for, ‘Let’s get the criminals out of the country.’ And what they got was, ‘Um, no, let’s find people who’ve been working here for 10 years...

Deputy Chief Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) confirmed Luna had died in the accident. But is that enough to trust that the law-breaking, trouble-causer is gone for good? “And no one asked to see the evidence of a dead body. She will be back,” predicted one Reddit user.

HBO has always been a reputable source for quality television, whether it's award-winning dramas like "The Sopranos" and "True Detective" or action-packed series like "Game of Thrones" and "The Last of Us." However, HBO is quite underrated for its repertoire of original comedy series, which it has aired since the network's very beginnings.
That's not all HBO has to offer, either. In 2020, the network launched its own platform, HBO Max, to compete with the best streaming services in the entertainment industry. This subsidiary of HBO has even started reaping awards for its own programming, including "The Pitt."

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Hal & Harper Season 1.] Hal & Harper isn’t about forgiveness or catharsis. Cooper Raiff says that the finale of his Mubi drama, which follows two adult siblings whose dad forced them to grow up too fast after their mom died, is about acknowledgement and seeing. The eight-episode show begins with Dad (Mark Ruffalo) telling Hal (Raiff) and Harper (Lili Reinhart) that his girlfriend (Betty Gilpin) is going to have a baby, and he’s selling their childhood home. The finale sees both of those things come to pass, and they both represent what the show is all about. The baby, for one, makes the family “purify” themselves to accept the new addition into their lives.

Days of Our Lives fans got a surprise on Tuesday, November 25, when a new promo video teased the return of Wes Ramsey, the actor who played Owen Kent for 19 episodes in 2009. As reported by Soap Opera Digest, eagle-eyed viewers spotted the blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from Ramsey toward the end of the promo. In a quick flash of a scene, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) apprehended a hooded figure. “Where is my daughter?” Steve yelled as the hooded man’s face was very briefly shown. In the episode, he and Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) met on two different occasions, and only one of them was acrimonious. Based on an Israeli series of the same name, "Euphoria" debuted on HBO in 2019 with an arresting, undoubtedly provocative, and borderline exploitative opening: a Pov shot of its main character, Rue (Zendaya), being born while footage of the September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks plays on a nearby television. It sends a message to the viewer: There will be no compromises made here.
Since then, the show hasn't let up. With series creator, showrunner, and primary writer-director Sam Levinson at the helm, the show has depicted all sorts of teenage struggles with sex, drugs, crime, violence, and abuse, usually in explicit and garishly filmed detail.

It's rare for a sitcom to remain relevant decades past its airing, but then again, it's also rare for a sitcom to be as great as "Seinfeld." The NBC series ran from 1989 to 1998, making television icons out of its four unlikable leads: stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld (with the real Jerry Seinfeld playing a fictionalized version of himself), neurotic George Costanza (Jason Alexander, playing a fictionalized version of series co-creator Larry David), shallow Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and wacky Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards).
Despite the show's longevity and popularity, "Seinfeld" suffers from the same pitfall as a lot of '90s television: aging badly.

Similarly, detective shows span the gamut of narrative tones, from crime comedies to grimmer fare that play out like nihilistic thrillers, each adding their own distinct take on the genre.

It’s never just another day at the office on Married to Medicine for Dr. Jackie Walters. The Ob/Gyn has been a longtime staple of the Bravo reality series since the show began in 2013. Her calming presence is especially needed when Season 12 premieres on November 30 as the group remains fractured. Drama spilled over between Dr. Simone Whitmore and Quad Webb from the last season’s reunion. That puts the returning Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, Toya Bush Harris, Dr. Mimi Sanders, and Walters in the middle of it. Entering the mix to shake things up is Webb’s bestie Angel Love Davis, a registered nurse and entrepreneur, and Whitmore’s girl Brandi Milton,...

Derek Turnbow (Jake Connelly) is new to Stranger Things this season, but Holly Wheeler’s (Nell Fisher) delightfully foul-mouthed classmate is already winning fans over.
Introduced in Vol. 1 of Stranger Things 5, the character lives up to his moniker “Dipshit Derek” as a bully who’s rude not only to kids his own age, but also to adults. When he’s targeted by Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), however, he steps up as the unlikely hero “Delightful Derek,” helping our crew smuggle other kids on Vecna’s radar to safety.
According to series co-creator Matt Duffer, Derek was originally intended to be a “generic bully character,” but Connelly’s charisma was undeniable.

“And I told you to eat your damn pie.” Heard, chef!
Episode 3 of Stranger Things 5serves up some delectable comedy when Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson) drops by the Turnbow family home armed with crocodile tears and a homemade pie under the guise of making amends with her estranged friend Tina (Caroline Elle Abrams).
It’s all a ruse to help our heroes abduct the unsuspecting family to protect Derek Turnbow (Jake Connelly), Vecna’s (Jamie Campbell Bower) next target, from the Demogorgon sent after him. So when Tina refuses to eat the spiked dessert, Erica takes drastic measures — stabbing her schoolmate in the neck with a syringe — in a moment...

Karen Wheeler just wanted to enjoy a nice, relaxing bubble bath at home, cradling a glass of white wine in the tub. And what better way to set the mood than with “Fernando,” the wistful Abba hit from 1976?
Of course, that’s not how it goes down in Episode 2 of Stranger Things 5, the final season of the beloved series, which debuted its first four episodes on Nov. 26.
In the episode titled “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler,” all hell breaks loose when a Demogorgon tears through the ceiling of young Holly’s (Nell Fisher) bedroom. As she tries to flee the monster, the camera cuts to Karen (Cara Buono) sipping her wine to the soothing,...

When Brilliant Minds returned for its second season, it introduced a few new characters, including a new resident for Dr. Oliver Wolf’s (Zachary Quinto) neurology department, Dr. Charlie Porter (Brian Altemus). He claims to be there to learn from the best (Wolf) but clearly has an ulterior motive, given the side of the character we’ve seen in flash forwards, the timeline in which Wolf is a patient at Hudson Oaks, run by Dr. Amelia Frederick (Bellamy Young). “Things are definitely going to come to a head in a pretty explosive way,” Altemus tells TV Insider ahead of the Monday, December 1, episode. “It’s stuff that I still, thinking...

Ryan Kiera Armstrong may be in the throes of some intense slayer training, but the young actress is already looking forward to reprising her role as Francis in Sterlin Harjo's latest FX series "The Lowdown."
Armstrong plays the daughter of Ethan Hawke's "truthstorian" Lee Raybon, a rough-around-the-edges citizen journalist who is a loving father despite his totally unconventional methods. In Season 1, Lee tries to get to the bottom of the city's latest death (which he thinks was a murder), all while trying to keep his ramshackle business afloat.
"I love their relationship," Armstrong tells TVLine. "It's really beautiful.
