Who likes making movies? These guys do!

If you have ever been interested or involved in making films then you will appreciate this fun and humorous documentary style film following a group of friends trying to make a low budget film for their towns, Boehring (pronounced 'boring'), summer film festival.

To make it clear what you are in for watching, this is not a large budget film. It is shot in a documentary style coming with the production value on film that is to be expected in this style of film but I implore you, it should not stop you watching this film.. Its clear this is an artistic choice made to really make you feel like you are truly following people making a movie.

So why should you watch 'We Make Movies'?

First of all let me introduce you to the cast:

Stevphen - MATT TORY Donny - JORDAN HOPEWELL Garth - JONATHAN HOLMES Jessica - ANNE CROCKETT Leonard - ZACK SLORT All of these actors really do play their parts well helping you really to get involved with each of their journeys during the production of 'A New Don'. Some of the character choices were more extreme than others but they all complimented and brought something to the dynamics of the group that really is engaging. From the over confident Director played by Matt Tory to the Method actor 'Star' played by Zack Slort down to my personal favourite character the naive Donny played by Jordan Hopewell who provides moments that really do leave you with a nurturing soft spot for him.

So what about the story? Presented in an awkward comedic style resembling that of Ricky Gervais in 'The Office', this story carries a lot of laugh out loud moments, cringeworthy moments that you can't help but watch and mixes in some serious moments to break up the comedy and keep the story moving and the audience engaged.

The film is written well and is not a fast paced film but it doesn't need to be. Its intimate at points and I know I personally can relate to real moments on set for a lot of these scenes! Scarily accurate in some cases...

Overall, I would recommend this light film as one worth watching if you want a giggle. Its not going to be the next break the bank Hollywood blockbuster film but its not trying to be. For what its supposed to be, something fun, it delivers well and keeps you entertained. Unsure about it, give it a try, I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

Indie filmmakers making a self-deprecating film about indie filmmakers? What's not to love? Director Matt Tory takes the limitations of presumedly budget-restricted filmmaking and weaponizes them by leveraging the mockumentary format to terrific effect in his consistently funny We Make Movies.

This is a film that's fun, smart, and knowingly stupid. Tory - who also stars - collects a cast of mostly lads around him that in their pack mentality are immediately familiar. We've seen them in high school, at the frat house, behind the camera on film sets - and through Tory's lens, they're completely endearing characters. Comparisons to other movies aren't always necessary, but there's something vaguely Trey Parker and "Cannibal! The Musical" about Tory's comedy - laddish characters, dishing out the smart and the stupid in equal measure, and at a consistently high level.

Here's hoping Tory's comedic ambition - his keen sense of irony and self-deprecation - soaks through to audiences that often don't want anything deeper than a given on-the-surface punchline. If that's you, rest assured there's plenty of joyous, heartfelt comedy to live off in We Make Movies; a film that consistently pulls out sheepish grins and slaps them all over our faces.

THESE guys! Wow- what a fun film. I am a huge fan of Christopher Guest movies, so this one was right up my alley! Also being a movie nerd/buff/lover made this all the more hilarious. Perhaps because I love filmmaking, I really appreciated this mockumentary on filmmaking, but I do think anyone would agree, this is simply FUN. Highly recommend for anyone with a good sense of humor!

Hysterical mockumentary that understands in order to be funny, the characters in a movie like this have to first be engaging and likable. Just as with the sitcom The Office for instance, these are comically exaggerated personas we recognize from our own lives, especially those of us who are filmmakers.

We Make Movies is every bit as funny as Christopher Guest films like A Mighty Wind, Waiting For Guffman and Best in Show. It reminded me of the early days of SCTV with John Candy, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy. You can tell they spent a long time on the script, something too many indie filmmakers fail to do, meticulously working out the beats and the comic timing so that it seems effortless but probably was anything but. And it doesn't resort to scatological or bathroom humor for cheap laughs.

No, there are no star names, but it features a future star in the lead by the name of Matt Tory. He's a cross between Jon Favreau and Bob Newhart, with hilarious subtle facial expressions and line deliveries.

Fans of smart-ass, quirky, slice of life comedy, give this a chance. You will not be disappointed.

What a creative and funny way to mock college and beginner filmmakers and actors. It was risky but it got the point across. A must see but u have to make sure u understand it's exactly a fun movie. Well put together And thought out
