The Lowe Files

I was obsessed with X-Files when I came across this show. I also loved Rob Lowe from Parks and Rec that I knew I needed to give this show a chance.

Some of the episodes are absolutely horrible, I will be honest. However, there are some truly amazing ones that I feel everyone does need to see. The episode regarding the topic of remote viewing has interested me ever since I have seen the episode. Not only that, but there are entertaining episodes where the locations are haunted, which provides for fun TV viewing.

I highly suggest this show if you believe in ghosts or the unexplained. I was fascinated to learn more and it was interesting to hear from various experts the show had that talked about the unknown. This show does come recommended and I wish that there was another season!

I don't know what programme the other reviewers here are reviewing, but it certainly can't have been The Lowe Files. I've watched the first three episodes (I only stuck with the third because it was shown as the second half of a double-bill, and there was nothing else on for that half-hour), and that's more than enough for me. It's beyond me how a programme with a running time of 24 minutes maximum, can spend the first 12 of them showing the Lowes dithering about who gets to ride shotgun, why they didn't get any cups with their meal - the ordering of which we get to see in every detail - , and who'll be first to get seasick. I've seen minute-long trailers for programmes with more content and substance than this abysmal ego-massage for the constantly mugging to camera Rob Lowe and his tedious bickering sons. It's blatantly obvious why this tripe didn't get a second season.

Great show. Leaves the acting beind and gets real. I was worried some of his superb acting skills would come out and it would be ghost adventure style(fake).

It is an honest reaction to real life paranormal investigating! I honestly thought we would get a half dozen seasons out of this show! Charismatic, family fun, just all around a great show cut too short.

The fact that this series was canceled after only one season is proof that the world is going to sh_t! I have been watching television for a long time, this was a great series. I only hope that someone will see the show's potential so that it will continue. 🤞

My wife and I are both Rob Lowe fans, and she a paranormal TV fan in general. We both find this to be a cut above the older shows for the most part. The family dynamic is great. The humor is an aspect sadly missing from most other shows that really makes this one something else. They genuinely look to be having fun out there, and maybe its just because he's been an actor for so long, but it doesn't seem as though there's the scripted points to plow through like a lot of shows. They seem like they're mostly just filming the events as they go. The varied subject matter should keep the show fresh for a little bit as well. On the other shows, there's only so many times you can say that a stone is too square for a human to have cut it or listened to a crackle on a voice recorder or seen the glow of eyes in the forest before it gets stale and all seems to blend together.

The only downside is that at a half hour, they can barely begin to scratch the surface of whatever subject they're looking at. Episode 1 at an hour runtime was fantastic, allowing them to really explore and shine, but the next two, while still good, just didn't make for more than a tentative glimpse at the subjects. Would easily be a 9+ with a longer runtime.

With luck, popularity might allow them to expand to full hour long shows in the future, as long as the short current shows don't dampen enthusiasm too much.
