सारांश
Reviewers say 'You' is lauded for its suspenseful plot and psychological intrigue, especially in the first two seasons. The show's exploration of obsession and love is often highlighted. However, later seasons face criticism for becoming convoluted and politically charged, with some finding the deviation from the original premise disappointing. Character development and plot consistency are points of contention. Despite mixed reviews, Penn Badgley's performance remains a consistent highlight.
फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Better than expected!
You is every bit as good as people have said it is and is pretty addicting once you start it. I've been putting off watching this since it first came out but finally found the time and now I'm mad I waited so long. For some reason I thought this was a show who's key demo was women. I was wrong. The thing that surprised me the most was how much humor is in it. It made me laugh a life more than I expected. Now, people saying that this isn't as good as Dexter are absolutely right (not much is), it isn't, but it definitely holds up on its own and thought it was overall a pretty good show. Penn Badgley does a fantastic job as the lead and Elizabeth Lail and Victoria Pedretti are both great in their roles as well. Now that I started it I can't wait for more seasons to come!
8/10 only for early seasons
Loved the first few seasons, but they really should've ended it with Love Quinn. That felt like the perfect stopping point. After that, I started to dislike Joe more and more each season-especially in season 5. His character lost the charm and complexity that made him interesting in the beginning. The plot just started feeling repetitive and less believable.
The first couple seasons were such a ride, though. The tension, the twists, and that whole creepy romantic vibe actually worked. It felt fresh and addictive back then, and I couldn't stop watching.
Overall, meh. Still loveee Penn Badgley.

Season 2 is quite good
Season 1 was okay, entertainable. Didn't like Beck at all though.
Season 2 is more mature and Love is a great character (great actress). The season is more thrilling and the story isn't that cheesy. Really enjoyed it!

A great show with an incredibly underwhelming ending
The show started to go off the rails after season 2, but it was all still enjoyable due to the consistently amazing performance of Penn Badgley . He is on his A-game again in season 5, but held back by an inconsistent script leading to many out of character moments for Joe. The "always one step ahead" trait of his character is here one episode, then gone the next ,which leads into the events of the final episode where us the viewers can see the twist coming miles before.
Season 5 started off with a good premise with a few twists ,that will be predictable to many, but were still entertaining to watch. Around the midpoint it started to lose its footing but came back with a great episode 8 and 9, which should have been the finale. Instead Episode 10 took a different direction with a narrative switch which didn't feel deserved, and multiple retcons that felt cheap. While it doesn't ruin the whole series like other shows final seasons have , it's sad to see it go out on such a low note, with so much wasted potential and storylines still left unfinished. A few series characters are brought back but add virtually nothing to the story and are mostly used as nostalgia bait, contributing to the feeling of this season being rushed. The best way I can summarise season 5 is that it's a good season (with many high points) but a very bad final season, lacking the finality this show deserved.
Goodbye, you.

great series apart from some careless moves
Great series, reminding me of the iconic "Dexter".
Acting is top notch, specially from Penn Badgley, completely unknown to me, but capable of portraying the complex, lethal and sensitive character of Joe.
Victoria Pedretti on seasons 2 and 3 was just perfect. Quite a rollercoaster of great acting here.
All 3 seasons delivered, with enough twists and last episode chaotic situations, that left me thinking "how the hell he's he going to come out of this" on the last episodes.
I was very sceptic at first, specially due to some avoidable and quite dumb out of place pseudo-erotic mb scenes, but I kept the faith and was not disappointed.
Strong points: the twists, chaotic situations, unpredictable moves and pace, all with wonderful acting through and through.
Weaker points: imbecile erotic out of place moments (thankfully not many), terrible soundtrack that does not amaze or stay in the head (sorry) and dumb moves from Joe (and not only): not using gloves, using the same hat to hide himself (ala Clark Kent with his eyeglasses) and less attention to detail when we know he could be caught by doing the same mistakes over and over again.
But... it's a great series nonetheless. If you loved "Dexter", it's not on par, but delivers, in a more "modern", less careful way and sometimes even a bit more chaotic in the situations where Joe puts himself on.
Season 1 great, Season 2 good, Season 3 great again (don't understand the hate, really).

- ट्रिवियाPenn Badgley almost turned down the role of Joe as he feared that the show would romanticize toxic behavior such as stalking. He was convinced after producers told him that that was the exact reason why he was right for the role- he would approach the show and part in a way that would ensure that Joe is clearly the villain of the story.
- गूफ़As a lover of books, especially rare/antiques, Joe would know better than to fold back the covers of paperback books. It puts strain on the spine.
