फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Cringe-inducing horrible acting, terrible pacing, and and after more than half the movie of build up and 'tension', no major payoff. The relationship between the two leads is weird and forced. I get that they've just gone through a loss, but it's portrayed in a very stilted and unnatural manner. It was as if it was written by someone who'd only ever read about that happening to people and now was trying to portray it on screen. The film is also shot very amateurishly, with corny slo-mo and messy angles when the violence finally starts going down. I like 'bad' horror movies, but bad in a good way. This was not that. This was just terrible.
The back story of their couple having a miscarriage does not blend well with the horror theme of maniac killers. The couple isn't likable enough and the killers aren't terrifying enough. Nothing really happens in this movie until 30 min from the end. When the credits rolled I sat there in silence for a moment thinking, "well that just sucked".
This movie was a copy kat of, "The Strangers".
Some parts kept me watching. However, the ending was not great at all. This move would of benefited with a better ending or better dialogue with the character. At first it seemed the wife was crazy. Confusion, say the least. Actors not bad.
It's nowhere near as bad as reviewed. While I mildly defend this movie I understand why people don't like it. The story is not new I'm not going to give names of the movies that have a near identical story a horror movie fan should already know that this is a movie that's been made before from the plot description. I guess you can get mad that it's similar to other movies but the viewers have a certain responsibility here, I say that as a person who has never watched the movie (because I really don't like the actors in the other film) that this is most similar to but I knew this would be like that other film. Acting is fine none of the cast was good enough to make a long lasting positive impression but they also were good enough that I can't think of anything negative about the job they've done so that's a wash. At the start I was really into it the cracking noise was chilling because if I'd have to guess what it was I'd have to say an empty water bottle which everyone has heard that many many times it will stick with me and should with others as well. But the pacing was all over the place and after the hotel scenes it dragged almost to a full stop. I don't mind a movie that has long stretches of no dialogue but after awhile you realize the silence is not to build tension or push the story it's just happening to lengthen the movie which I understand but it's so long and almost nothing happens that the lack of dialogue becomes a silent distraction. This movie isn't great it doesn't cover new ground it has no striking visuals no new filming techniques it's just a horror movie and while it's apparent others expected more it was enough for me that I didn't think my time was wasted and I did enjoy it I'm not going to watch it over and over but it did entertain me.
It feels like, at times, these folks wanted to make a good, tense film. Some scenes work, in that respect. Most of the time, however, stupid decisions amongst the two leads are carried-through.
Where these two main characters-a wife and husband-are well-written, as people, the rest of the movie has some of the most bizarrely dumb moments to it. One of the most unintended, hilarious lines in the film is the killer knocking on the door, asking in a Fire Marshall Bill voice, "Can I borrow some sugar?"
The film feels like a total rip-off of the classic "The Strangers". That movie felt full, and well-rounded. This film has sharp edges that poke you. No one likes that.
Movie was just plain dull. And dull can be worse than straight-up bad, sometimes.
