Black Beauty

This mini-series was not exactly faithful to the book, but was a classic in its own right. The authentic locations (filmed in Kentucky), only added to the story. The music was magnificent, but was never released on a CD (which is unfortunately the case of many worthy soundtracks). I was able to tape a few episodes on my Betamax when it first aired, including the touching ending, and hope that it will eventually make it to DVD in its entirety! As a life-long horse lover and horse owner, you can tell that this production was full of TLC! I have only seen it rerun once on the Disney Channel, years ago, and hope it will surface again soon! TERRIFIC NEWS! Just found out this fabulous program is coming out on DVD on March 30, 2010! I have already ordered my copy!!
