Nudist Colony of the Dead

A campy, low budget production with catchy tunes that will have you humming them for days. (Just don't be caught singing "Kill Kill Kill the Zealots" at work.) If you've enjoyed "Dead and Breakfast", you'll have a great time with "Nudist Colony of the Dead". The songs are better and there are more of them. It's truly a musical horror comedy. (Well, we may have to question the horror part - very little blood and guts and no good slashing at all.) Despite the title, don't expect full nudity or even much partial nudity. And there's NO sex.

If you're easily offended or a Born Again Christian, don't get this movie. There are no scared cows in Mark Pirro's world and nearly everyone gets zinged at some point. Let there be no doubt, "bible thumpers" are certainly taken to task (and taken apart as one would expect in any horror movie). It is a social commentary. Pirro uses humor and silliness to push his point home. That said, it doesn't take away from the entertainment value of the film.

I got this thinking it would be some sort of a soft porn horror. but, its not. I really don't see the point of this movie. mabe just to offend as many people as possible. christans, jews, gays, rednecks, black people, religous people, and if that s not enough theres the breif nudity. the cover makes it look like its just full of it, oh well. bad movies are great it makes me relized that just about anyone can write anything and people will pay to make it. the singing is a nice little added feature, its the only thing worse than the dialouge

First off, if you're looking for a lot of nudity, look elsewhere. Some of the women are topless, but that's it, and once they become zombies, they're all grey, and some of them have clothes on (go figure). But I enjoyed this movie; it doesn't take itself too seriously like a lot of other horror movies, so you don't have to sit there and roll your eyes at the amateur attempts to make you gasp in horror. I thought the songs were great (and a lot better than music in most horror movies), including the title theme, the rap (especially the old grandma doing the dance moves), the "I Don't Care" blues song they sing in the van, and "Inky Dinky Doo Dah Morning". The characters are well defined (the drunk girl, the Chinese guy with the accent, the Bible-quoting guy) and it's fun to see them interact with each other.

It's great if you're looking for obscure horror movies to watch and looking for a new one to watch and be entertained by. If that's you, it's a must-see.

This film has always stayed with me, but after having just seen the trailer (er... music video) at movieflix.com, I had to write about it.

I found this and thought it was gonna be an '90s soft-core musical, along the lines of "Beach Blanket Bango," "Cinderella" (1977) and "Cinderella 2000." While the three of those are also party movies, this one falls into another category entirely -- namely the Mark Pirro category. With insane films like "Curse of the Queerwolf," "Buford's Beach Bunnies," and the more mainstream "My Mom's a Werewolf" (which he scripted), Pirro has a style all his own. I'm sort of scared of the other trailer I just saw for his newest film, "Rectuma."

As was pointed out before, it's not gory enough to be horror; not "nudist" enough to be pornographic; not funny enough to be a true comedy. It's a film that was probably fun to make, and it was made to be made fun of. It's brash, offensive and politically incorrect (moreso than the hilariously offensive "Queerwolf")... and it's filled with bad dialog/acting, crazy HALF-naked zombies and songs that you can't get out of your head, no matter how hard you try.

It's not "Citizen Kane," but it is what it is -- and for what it is, I give it a 10. Grab some beer, pop some popcorn and invite all your friends to laugh and sing along with the zombies from the "Nudist Colony of the Dead!"

I never had any issues watching a different kind of movie! Trust me,his is one such - Funny (an Adult Comedy, of course). When I saw this movie, I was really surprised. I have seen Walking-Dead movies (most of the time it was pointed towards Gore, Horror, sometimes Comedy and even Spoof) but this is one movie which was made Funny! This movie is no-logic-just-fun in a very peculiar way. But trust me, it seems intended. When you watch the scenes before the Titles, you'll be able to realize that the Director has made sure to give a preview of what kind of movie to expect. The best thing I can suggest is watch the first set of scenes (Court scene and the following one) and if you find them to be funny (especially dialogues), continue to watch it.

I was smiling throughout the movie. Even made me laugh sometimes! The dialogues and one-liners were quite good. They fit to the tone of the movie and each one strictly sticks to the character. All the songs were funny (in the same peculiar way). Even kept me humming "Inky-dinky Doo-dah Morning".

Loved it and I do recommend it to people who like a movie not because it is like what they wanted it to be but for what it is!
