Her Last Fling

I do not think that this movie was ever released in the US. I had to find a collector in Denmark to get a copy of it. I saw it the first time in 1978. I could not find anyone that had it until 2002. There are lots of good orgy scenes that take place in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Basically, A woman is told by her doctor that she only has a few weeks to live. She decides to go out in style, attending every orgy she could find. Several weeks later she goes back to the doctor and finds out that she is not longer affected by her ailment. The doctor wants to know what she did. In the last scene he is also at an orgy. The last line says "Sex is Life". The Asian actress listed as Sue Yu is actually the actress Carol Tong, seen in "Sex World"

Sandy (Sandy Feldman) gets word from her doctor that she doesn't have much longer to live so she decides to get involved with some orgies.

HER LAST FLING might sound like director Carlos Tobalina was trying to get into some Ingmar Bergman type of drama but you should know that the "drama" pretty much goes out the window at the five-minute mark and then it turns into your typical gang bang / orgy film. If you're familiar with the work of Tobalina then you know how the man loves group sex.

At just 72-minutes the film isn't that long but there's really not enough story here for anything and in fact the entire opening is pretty much useless as there's no story or character development. Obviously the opening was just an excuse to get to the orgy action and as is typically the case it's poorly shot and certainly not erotic.

There are some familiar faces in the cast but no one really stands out among the crowd. There are a few good scenes and if you're into large orgies then you might get a little more entertainment out of it but overall it's pretty flat.

Carlos Tobalina's "Her Last Fling" is a messy mix of sex and soap opera, offering a flimsy premise for what essentially becomes a series of orgy scenes. With a runtime of just 72 minutes, the film attempts to blend drama and erotica but ultimately falls flat.

The story follows Sandy (played by the adorable Sandy Pinney), a woman who discovers she is terminally ill. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, Sandy embarks on a sexual journey, seeking pleasure and excitement before her time runs out. It's an intriguing setup that initially captivates, with the opening scene beautifully setting the tone as Sandy gazes wistfully from her terrace.

However, any promise of a thoughtful exploration of a woman's response to mortality is quickly abandoned. True to Tobalina's style, the film descends into repetitive and poorly shot orgy footage. Any sense of character development or narrative arc is lost in a sea of group sex scenes. This is a shame, as the premise had the potential for an honest and subtle portrayal of a woman's sexual liberation in the face of death.

That being said, "Her Last Fling" is not without its pleasures. For those who enjoy orgy scenes, this film delivers, and there is a wonderful all-girl scene that stands out. Additionally, the restoration work by Vinegar Syndrome is impressive, particularly in the exterior scenes of Vegas, which are visually stunning.

In conclusion, "Her Last Fling" is a disappointing mishmash of genres. While it offers some enjoyable moments for fans of erotic cinema, the lack of focus on story and character development lets it down. A little more attention to the narrative and a little less time on the orgies could have made this a more satisfying film.
