One of the early movies of Jagapati . its a social drama . Heera in a non glamarous role is very nice and domestic to watch in her cotton sarees and long plait . Jagapati lives in a rented house owned by Satyanarayana . His family consists of his wife his wife and 4 girls . Jagapati is an activist who enacts street plays on various subjects . He marries Heera who rejects her Bombay based husband for demanding dowy . They start living happily . Satyanaraya's first daughter Meghana and Jagapati;s friend Anand fall in love and get married with out any opposition from parents . when they are driving on a rainy night a group of ruffians stop them and rape Meghana . Anand escapes . From here starts their ordeal . The hospital , the doctors, the police , the neighbours .. they keep commenting on her character and demand a lot of questions before treating her for her wounds . Anand conveniently runs away to his home town despite Jagapati pleading with him to stay back and help Meghana . Unable to bear the humiliation ,Satyanarayana leaves his house with his remaining family over night . Jagapati and Heera take care of Meghana . When the case goes to the court , another wave of torments follow , the lawyers, the investigations take a toll on Meghana. Its not clear how Jagapati zeroes in on the 4 culprits . but they are captured and presented in court . Nutan prasad comes as her defending lawyer . A lot of mud is thrown on her character and family honour . Finally they are found guilty and charged by the court Meghana has huge expressive eyes to show the hurt, the innocense , the trust and final let down by her husband who turns out to be asadist. he keeps reminding her of her ordeal at every turn . She kills him in the final scene herself . Jagapati is the quite strength of the famiily and shows several feelings easily . Over all its a social drama of relevant ills of society ,
