God Only Knows!

OK, I saw this movie 3 years back and it's still a memory. I don't know why people are shouting, this movie being pathetic. OK, this movie is not a great movie to see but it definitely isn't gross. Great sense of humor provided at regular times and a well planned movie. I recommend the viewers to see it whenever they're stressed; it works as a stress buster. I still wonder why people still look for Yash Raj kind of sick movies and discard such low profile but good movies. Performances by Anjan Srivastava, Viju Khote and Sharbani Mukherjee is appreciable. Trying to convey a message on Indian politicians, this movie shows how an Indian politician can even do politics in Hell too. He can even unbalance the atmosphere of "Nark" and annoy "Yamraj". I'm not good in commenting but whole in whole, this movie is great for once a watch type of audience.

This movie is a attempt at satire of Indian politics. But unfortunately it fails in it. First of all this movie is made a "English" movie. Was director expecting a World wide audience??? If the movie would have been made in Hindi which is the best language for satire it would have been enjoyable. The cast I should say is adequate for this kind of movie but would have loved to see more of Johny Lever. Music was any way just a bunch of famous Hindi/English songs (No marks for answering the language of lyrics). But dance numbers were good because some hot chicks were dancing around. This movie is technically good and gives a feel of a watching a bollywood movie in a glance but if u watch the movie for some time u tend to feel "God only knows!!! why they made this movie" (May be I met the directors expectation from audience)

Please do not watch this movie! Unless of course you want to just torture yourself. The script has no class and lacks every aspect of humor. Its a very poor compilation of jokes from the existing literature by greats like P.L Deshpande (The Johnny Lever - opening sequence - "Who are you?"). The director has managed to produce a huge flop with an amazing cast. He could have done so much better with a good script! The script is full of clichés and old predictable jokes. The film is presented as a spoof but spoofs are clever. Comedy is hard and not every ones cup of tea. This review might seem a bit harsh, but its needed. If people start appreciating such films, it would be shameful and injustice towards people who really think through a film script. I really really want to know who funded this film. I bet there are better scripts waiting to see the light of the day. Give them a chance. Bad bad film!! Amazing cast!! Dumb Direction!! Waste of time!!
