Car tricks and sleepover secrets

Secrets and lies dominate this early season one episode with Brandon and Steve roaming the nightlife in search of some innocent fun, instead picking a pair of vixens (McCullough & Aronson, both familiar faces from 80s horror movies) who might be more than their adolescent egos (and maturity) can handle.

Meanwhile Brenda is hosting a rather puerile sleepover at which the high-maintenance, ultra obnoxious Amanda (Abrams who had a prominent role in the 'Buffy' movie as a cheerleader) is a somewhat unwelcome guest of Kelly's, constantly bemoaning the fact that she's missing out on a frat party, whilst her allegedly juvenile friends indulge in ice-cream and school-yard gossip.

Things obviously get a bit heavier in both storylines, the girls sharing some uncomfortable truths whilst the boys rue their missed opportunities, and overall everything is resolved on a generally light-hearted note.

Julie McCullough and Judie Aronson, who play Trina and Shelly here, each appeared on Growing Pains. McCullough played Julie the nanny, and later Mike Seaver's fianceé. Aronson played Cindy, a classmate in Mike's acting class.

Kelly Taylor: All right, I'll tell you. Ross Webber was this godly stud on the football team, who I had a hopeless crush on in the 9th grade.
[gets interrupted by Amanda reminding her that this was before her nose job]
Kelly Taylor: Right. Anyway, I was working the whole year at getting close to him. I started hanging out with the JV cheerleaders, going to all the games, just tagging along wherever he was going to be. And one night after some game, everybody was getting drunk, except me, and a bunch of us drove up to Mulholland. When we got there, Ross says he wants to take me to his favorite spot in the woods. I'm so stupid, for I think, "Wow, that would be a neat thing to do." But of course, when we get there all he wants to do is have sex. He kept saying, "Come on, Kel, I know you want it. I know you want it, Kelly." And I did... but not on the ground. He didn't even bring a blanket. But it was over pretty quick and after that he took me home... and never talked to me again. Is that what you had in mind?
