Lisa Robin Kelly, who played Laurie when the show debuted, abruptly vanished following this episode. Even the opening credits had been changed mid-season and the reason for her departure hadn't been officially stated. However, she returned to the show near the end of the fifth season for a few episodes, only to disappear permanently at the beginning of the sixth season. She was then replaced by Christina Moore. Lisa Robin Kelly died in 2013, at the age of 43, caused by drug abuse.
